I don't understand how we (skateboarders) harm the public anymore than a small child riding a scooter down the sidewalk, or someone riding a bike, bothe of which are legal where I live. It's biased, they base all skateboarders from about 20% of the skateboarding population that actually does vandalize. I respect citizens and often find my self riding through the street to avoid families or individuals on sidewalks and if the traffic is heavy then I'll simply step off my board and let them pass.

The lack of public support and funding is the crime. This has been going on for over nearly 30 years.I also blame the industries that endorse skateboarders but not their plight. If law gets in the way of that issue... simply let us sign a waiver saying that the property owners will not be responsible for other people's injuries. I'm 17 and went to my apartment office and made that exact deal with them. Now they let me skate like nothing because they aren't scared to be sued. The vandalism part, I have no comment in.
