The point is this: Belief in God and the impact of that on policy is slowing down human progress. If you think that's a bad thing, wherever you see belief in god slowing us down, try and do something to stop it happening.

Charity is a component of the exercise of power. It isn't inherently good.
All religious charity groups seek to promote the religion that's providing the charity. It's not done merely for its own sake.
