In the Sonic joins the brawl cutscene in SSBB sonic completely destroyed sonic and in the final battle against Tabuu sonic appeared and saved ALL OF NINTENDO!! I think Sonic is way better. Also even if sonic was at the end, why did nintendo make sonic save the day. Here, in my opinion here's how a fight would go. If it was a short quick fight with not many surroundings sonic would probably win, but if there were plenty of surroundings mario would probably win. Sonic uses brute speed and strength to defeat his enemies, however most of his enemies have an obvious way of defeating them, so he wins really easily. Mario uses his surroundings, for example using an axe to chop down a bridge, he only has a jump and certain powerups, that's all, but he's a genius

But Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (to me) was the last successful Sonic game. after that, he just went down the way of crash bandicoot, the company just didn't know what else to do with him...
now they're kinda just shooting blindly, hoping to hit a target they already had nailed to begin with...
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is gonna bring him back completely. I've always been a Sonic fan, but I do like Mario too. But Sonic made his debut in 1991, the year I was born, so I grew up with him more than Mario. Hopefully they work on Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic Unleashed 2, and whatever they can do.
Mario was 3D in his new side-scroller (New Super Mario Brothers Wii), why doesn't anyone complain about that? Sonic has a lot of potential, SEGA just needs to give what the fans want more often.

I think Nintendo have actually copied games but in different versions. I Googled a list of all Mario games and counted 15 super Mario bros. games and 9 Mario party games... Talk about repetition...

Mario can use power ups like, fire flower, ice flower, mushroom, poison mushroom, mega mushroom, frog suit, etc. NOW DO I KNOW ANYTING ABOUT MARIO RETARD? Here, in my opinion here's how a fight would go. If it was a short quick fight with not many surroundings sonic would probably win, but if there were plenty of surroundings mario would probably win. Sonic uses brute speed and strength to defeat his enemies, however most of his enemies have an obvious way of defeating them, so he wins really easily. Mario uses his surroundings, for example using an axe to chop down a bridge, he only has a jump and certain powerups, that's all, but he's a genius

you know i dont mean to put anybody down because I grew up with sonic nad mario both but well....sonic...because of SEGA...has just plummeted down hill i mean look at Mario Galxy 2 or Super Mario 3DS, now compare that to Sonic Gen or Sonic 4 or especially Sonic 06...Sonic colors was okay sonic gen was the best and thats terrible that I should say that! in my opnion, i like both, if your like games that is FAST and you have to think fast to do the right action and dodge correct, Sonic is good to you, but if you want games that you JUMP in platforms, with more JUMP stages, Mario is good to you, i like both, Mario and Sonic, I like more Sonic, but this doesn't means that i dislike Mario, I play a lot of Mario, and... I have Super Mario Galaxy 2... Great game...

Don't get me wrong, had Sega Team stayed focused on what Sonic is supposed to be, Then Sonic would have beat Mario in Popularity..
But Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (to me) was the last successful Sonic game. after that, he just went down the way of crash bandicoot, the company just didn't know what else to do with him...
now they're kinda just shooting blindly, hoping to hit a target they already had nailed to begin with...

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is gonna bring him back completely. I've always been a Sonic fan, but I do like Mario too. But Sonic made his debut in 1991, the year I was born, so I grew up with him more than Mario. Hopefully they work on Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic Unleashed 2, and whatever they can do.

At least that's the impression I got from Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario) when he talked about the Olympic Games series; he made a few jokes at Sonic's expense but overall he seemed to think fondly of the series.

I think Nintendo have actually copied games but in different versions. I Googled a list of all Mario games and counted 15 super Mario bros. games and 9 Mario party games... Talk about repetition...

The true key difference is Sega doesnt keep making games with minor changes such as Nintendo. If they are changing something it is going to impact the game with a great positive force unlike Mario who only goes into castles to save someoe who he wants to get lucky with...

Sonic and the secret Rings, while looked nice and pretty, was also bombed, as well as Sonic and the black knights, which was just gimmicky, 2 many fails

@cadcsa HOLD UP! Sonic didn't copy Mario kart. Sonic drift was out WAY before Mario kart back in 1994, 7 YEARS before the first Mario kart game in 2001...
And the Sonic games your referring to may be bad to some people such as yourself but for others they are good games. And your here to tell me Nintendo hasn't made one crappy game for Mario? I looked up some facts about Mario Kart and people were saying... "Double Dash was so bad that it would've killed off any lesser video game series."
