This version and the Elton version both have their merits. I actually enjoy both. Has anyone else noticed that Elton and Maynard use similar vocal mannerisms as well? Both of them have quite distinctive "hummed" m's and n's that they use instead of holding the vowel sound in words "man".

Okay people who say this sucks, or don't like the vocals w/e. I'm not entirely sure if you understand how epic of a cover this is. The vocals sound like he's coming from a transmitter/radio, the beeping noise of his vitals/suit, and of course the rocket man's heartbeat. He actually sounds lke he's in space while singing this. He just made a good song a lot better.
