  • I love edgar allen poe's work but i agree ppl were exicted to c the toaster come tht y they probably ended...

  • Man I'v seen him five years ago :-/

  • Is this actual footage of the Poe Toaster? Or a recreation?

  • Yea why would people try and mess with him? Its a lot more interesting if we never found out

  • I think the "toaster" has stopped simply because of all the attention! The idiots who sit there and watch overnight, especially media, are most likely there for reasons that are not the same as his/hers. I know that if I went to a shrine of some sort, I wouldn't want such annoyances..in fact personally I'd find them disrespectful!

  • @Jrogers7716 stop thinking about stereotypes....a lot of kids are interested in horror...espeacially Poe's...cutting eyes out sticking axes in his wifes brain etc. your thinking about 6 and 7 year olds they can barely read so of course they wouldnt be interested...but me im 12 and my L.A. class I are HUGE fans of him...dont be a stereotype...

  • I'm in sixth grade and in my language arts class we study edgar allan poe were all fans of him we're currently in the middle of the black cat(taking it in sections) not all kids like me are interested in that kinda sutff -.-

  • what did i just watch?

  • has anyone ever seen him?

  • I would very much like to see the Toaster someday, I hope he continues the tradition. Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite writers

  • why you toast poe no mo poe toster?

  • @Jrogers7716 *facepalm* Now, about the High School Musical thing... MANY people of my generation appreciate great literature like Poe. Plus, many hate Hight School Musical. Our generation is not that hard to understand. Are you always this stupid, Jrogers7716, or are you trying really hard today?

  • I'm only 12 but I want him to return.

  • @skittlezrulzu this is the second year he didn't showed up but after next year if he won't show up then the tradition is dead for Baltimore

  • Welcome, Pleasant Toaster...

    2011

  • He has not showed for the last couple of years, in no small part because there were morons trying to jump the fence to accost him. The EAP historical society had to start hiring guards to patrol the area every year, and even then they can't guarantee security.

  • I love Poe's works! someone should continue the tradition

  • its sad that he stopped visiting the grave :(

  • its sad that he stopped coming :(

  • Is this footage of the actual Poe Toaster, or a re-enactment?

  • @eeClaytonification maybe because people have enough respect for poe and his legacy to not troll his grave sight with cell phone cameras?

  • i heard he died

  • I love Edgar. If I could, I would do the same thing that the Poe Toaster did. He's my favorite poet and I understand the pain that he went through. May he always rest in final peace. "Quoth the raven, Nevermore."

  • Did Mr. Poe Toaster just decide to stop at the 200th anniversary?

  • apparently...

  • You mean to tell me there's been no copy catting over the years which resulted in 8 or 9 of these guys showing up? Why didnt one of the people camping out bring the stuff just in case the "real" guy didnt show. I mean why would anyone else be less worthy than whoever the "real" guy is.

  • There are pictures of "someone" but most are believed to be the orignal guy though there are a few more resent. Some say theres been another change & that this one is taller then the other two.

  • The tradition died because kids these days suck and have no respect for anything or anyone except High School Musical...........gay bastards!!

  • @Jrogers7716 thumbs up to that!

  • @Jrogers7716 I would love to take up the tradition, exceot I'm a 14 year old girl from Florida. I would love for children my age indulge in poetry or art, but, sadly, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

  • @Jrogers7716

I am a kid, and I love Poe. i have been reading him since I was 9 years old and would gladly be the Poe toaster! He was brilliant, too bad when i talk about him to people of my age they say, "Who?"

  • @Jrogers7716 Some kids are exceptions...I know one that's a fan of a lot of writers, and "The Raven" is among his favorite poems.

  • @Jrogers7716 I a Kid that has respect for these kinda things and i hate High School Musical

  • @Jrogers7716 Hey gay bastard, im 13, no one likes high school musical my age? not even my 7 year old little sister. My generation has a better chance of liking edgar allan poe and we do then like high school musical. hate to say it, but FUCK u

  • @SteadyGlaze lol

  • @Jrogers7716 Don't be so ignorant and hateful.

  • @Jrogers7716 I'm 15 i can say i have respect for people like Edgar Poe & The Poe Toaster

  • @Jrogers7716 not true! don't judge all based on the actions of few

  • Please, invite yourself to assume the responsibility and set the example.

  • The toaster actually didn't show up this year...first time since 1949.

  • @Platinum1533 wasnt there one other time where he didnt show up in the 90s or something & the following year left a note saying I have not forgotten you Sir or something like that.

  • was this just a remake, or the actual poe toaster? lol

  • the original guy died and left the ritual to a son. Hate to be that kid, carrying out that traditon, probably doesn't even like Poe.

  • I'm the Poe toaster. I make bagels and waffels and recite gothic poetry

  • At the same time?

  • Damn straight

  • lol

  • i dont like he left notes

    no toaster should leave notes

  • I honestly think the notes were alright as long as no one read them. Had no one read them, it would have added more air to the mystery and made it more interesting.

  • Excellent. Good work. Thanks for DOING and posting.

  • 60 years the tradition has lived... weird, but you gotta admire the toasters for their devotion

  • humans like their rituals

  • I think the poe toaster is also buckethead

  • Happy Birthday

  • I loooove the music.. soothing

  • Great atmospherics and great music, well done.

  • Very good. What is the music you chose?

  • Very good. Just read about the Poe Toaster on Yahoo news and thought I'd check YouTube to see if there was anything...there was. Thanks

  • @MikePoppyRosie hahaha same exact thing i just did
