ok. so i don't know exactly what happens. but i just looked the show up and this episode is a 2 parter. i can't find the second part. but maybe, they figure out he didn't do it. idk.

@christine1479 It was totally James's fault. Emily was left traumatized after the first fall.

@christine1479 It was a definitely a horrible ending, but I guess they wanted to make it more realistic. The justice system is flawed because it relies on human judgement, and humans feel like they need to blame someone when something this horrible happens, whether it's the truth or not. They find someone to blame and they feel like they've accomplished what they set out to do, which was solve a murder.
