This brings back SUCH memories. My uncle was a very talented soap and candle maker, and every Christmas he would hand us a cake of fresh soap, and tell us "there's a surprise inside!" and indeed there was! Inside the soap was a piece of wrapped bubblegum, or a small toy or treat. We would use the soap down to stubs immediately, we were all anxious to discover the special surprise he had hidden, just for us! I always enjoyed walking into his store, it sold perfume, fragrance, candles and soap.
omg, thanks, i did this fo my bestie's birthday (she loves piggies and she draws alot so the erasers were perfect) and she LOVED them! thanks anne-marie!
Thanks Heaps for all these M&P tutorials AM .. This is exactly the kind of thing I want to do with my son and his friends! I also love that you include the out-takes at the end lol :P
@0126225807 When colors bleed they can migrate and run together. See episode 2: Herbs and Colorants for more information on the difference between bleeding and non-bleeding colors.
@misspopstar1960 Yes we do! We have a page with common questions about international shipping - but you can always email us with any questions you have.
I'm so glad you posted this, Anne-Marie! I like this technique better than the way I've being doing it - one toy in each individual soap mold. Expect an order of non-bleeding colorants from me soon :-)
PS - Would this technique work if I mixed cold process soap layers with a clear layer of melt & pour? Just curious . . .
