My Alaskan Malamute would kill to get permission to pull like this. I can't say that we've ever really succeeded in teaching her to heel, and even pulling at about half strength, she's pulled numerous grown men over. My poor mother will never again walk that dog, haha. They LOVE to pull, it's in their genes. An idle Malamute is a naughty Malamute, so it's good to see this guy has found his "purpose", and it must make him really happy.
@ConiferTreez Considering that my malamute stepped on two pitubulls faces and stomped them out until they were in full submission position, you go ahead and do that. Oh, and this is after they snapped their 1/4 inch yard chains and tried to go after my sister... so they weren't tiny pits either.
@formdoggie5 then those pit bulls weren't real game pit dogs...big means nothing, the smaller & gamier the better when it comes to pit bulldogs. Malamutes lack the desire & the stamina to hold their own in the pit vs. a bulldog :-) thanks for your worthless input though...
@AkatsukiWolf0 but german sheps are herding dogs...AND can be trained very well as police/military and personal guard dogs. Its strong...but different type of strong.
Malamute is just brute strength, as they are "working" breed...(pulling sleds for one)....but they make horrible guard dogs ,lol
Poor dog? I've never met a Malamute that didn't want to pull something. That's like feeling sorry for an Olde English Sheepdog because it's herding sheep.
poor dog...you moron learn something about the breed before you comment. THIS is what the dog was bred for years ago. To pull massive weights in Alaska for huge distances.

deathgreeb101 3 months ago
@deathgreeb101 Yes, they usually have them positioned just in front of the sledge rather than a husky pulling the weight :)
