love this version. peter has an amazing voice, so much control and you feel him oozing sexual frustration. thats why gerard was all wrong, he was too beautiful even with the disfigurement, couldn't sing and just didn't come across as a mysterious musical genius verging on madness. DAMN he's touchy-feely! My only problem is that Elizabeth has completely lost the "illusion of the first time"--a mistake many actors make in Phantom. After so many years of the same blocking, phantom actors tend to... well... forget to act! Also, it seems that when casting, Phantom is focused practically only on vocals... people tend to forget that the singer needs to be able to act too. lol I'm primarily a singer myself, but an actress too. There has to be a balance, especially in this show.

@happyunhappy13 The stage production is MUCH better than the movie, lol. (No diss to Gerard Butler or Minnie Driver. They were fabulous) Practically everything is different, including the timing. I do agree though that they tended to fall behind every once in awhile... eh, even the best get off at least once in their lives.

I'm not a big fan of Elizabeth De Grazia. She has a wonderful voice, but her acting needs some work. Peter Karrie, on the other hand, can sing the PONR to me ANY day. He is fantastic. Those hand gestures are just amazing, along with the voice and other aspects of his body language.

Honey, I heard and saw over 150 Phantoms. Can you really match that? You want bad? Listen to Paul Stanley and Uwe Kröger. Peter Karrie is a very unusual Phantom because he doesn't fit in the Crawford mold, but he is an amazing vocalist and a brilliant performer. He is actually ALW's favourite. You don't like him. That's fine. But there is no need to be so rude towards a legendary, beloved performer.

What has one got to do with the other? PK won the "World's Most Popular Phantom" poll twice. Webber called him his all time favourite several times and cast him in 4 major POTO productions. He's a legendary performer. It's ok to prefer other Phantoms of course. But one should still respect the legendary performers (Crawford, Willetts, Karrie, Wilkinson) of this role.

2. The grim reaper cloak is HOT. He's supposed to be the Angel of Death. Not Fabio.

i personally think he is great. we should respect all phantoms as i have said befour on other videos. to be able to sing at all is great. you dont come across people very oftern that can sing an opera. all phantoms are good, i wish i could sing like that. but if people dont like like him then fare enough. it would be boring if we all liked the same phantom.

I wish everybody wouldn't get so nasty with everyone. If you don't like someones singing just say you don't like there singing. I to am not crazy about PKs singing or DeZarn but I would never go further then that. I do agree though that you shouldn't have to get used to someone to asses wether you like them and you shouldn't have to see them live either if you have good clips of them or videos. Some of the earlier Phantoms played the role when camcorders and recording eqiupment wasn't as good.

QueensAdelphi, I have criticized Barrell a lot, that's correct. Why? Because her technique is flawed beyond belief. She is a belter (Hardly appropriate for Christine) and not a good one like Pia Douwes, Kristin Hölck or even Celia Graham. However, I never just called her "terrible" etc. without stating my reasons clearly.
