  • Surprisingly, the secret of piano website: ppa.nn.cx

  • Your skills are awesome man! I bought a Yamaha MM8 in March and I'm dying to learn how to noodle the blues on it but I have NO musical experience. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Thank you so much for this man ! Amazing!

  • I really hate those stupid ads.

  • I really ike the inversions; that's still my bane. Thanks for sharing.

  • 0:36 Is the reason I love blues. The sound you get when you jump to the high notes. Gah! Wish I could play blues just to be able to create that sound myself, and put how I hear it in my head, down on the keyboard, so I can hear it with my ears. Then again, do I hear my thoughts, or just think my thoughts? Or do I hear my thoughts without hearing them..? I'm quite zooted at the moment. Ignore the inane ramblings.

  • ITS SO BEAUTIFUL *-* OMG

  • cut your nails

  • very good!!!!

  • just a twat

  • This video should be named - "Great Blues Riffs! Beware beginners, this ain't for you, yet!" XD

  • Thanks a million I'm practicing it and its starting to get pretty good. its sooooo fun to play I can't get it hands together though

  • 2:30 anything like that

    super-clear :D

  • Faster paced teaching for people who already have piano experience does not make him a bad teacher, it just makes this video not suited to your beginner needs. That's why you can add "beginner" to your search. Don't criticize the giver of knowledge.

  • @jhat2014 'Don't criticize the giver of knowledge' has got to be the worst advice I've ever heard.

  • Thank you!

  • sorry i speak american

  • Thank you for a great starting blues lesson on the piano- It is just too bad that most artists in Music are not better versed in visual. I'm a left handed award winning artist in astronomy art and photography- please search for Mark Seibold in web, but I'm practicing piano for a couple years now and loving all neoclassical and jazz riffs- The videographer here should have taken a wider screen image to show the left hand interaction- too bad it's just off the screens left edge ?! Nice to hear tho

  • didnt see that one coming, im fucking impressed

  • really cool riff, I stopped playing piano about 2 years ago because of lack of free time, but I'm starting back up again and exploring styles like this.

  • Very good job bro..i wish i can play like that...:D

    I really enjoy u'r explanation..:D

  • your hands look like the muppets when they run or trow themselfs

  • he says clearly its a baseline in G are u dumb? :P

  • thx for the vid, mate, it's a very nice riff u got there, but it's kinda' hard to see what your are actually doing, so next time; give a little more explanatoin.

    But still awesome!!! :D

  • Thank you very much for the video. Would it be possible for you to play the lick at around 2:32 more slowly. thanks again!

  • Excellent! I think you're a fantastic player and a great teacher.

  • Great work there!!!!!!It took me 2 months to get over being a beginner on blues piano and another 4 months to play some advanced stuff.....For all the blues piano fans and students (just like me) there is another guy(better teacher and player undoubtedly...no offence) that works for expertvillage(the only good series of videos it has ever done...) with 30 very usefull licks....don't flag me or anything,I just think it is worth a view.....thanks again for your videos!Really good try!!!!

  • this terrible video video would give him 850,000 views if it was truely terrible

  • guys this tutorial was made only for people that know there pianos well. its just teaching them how to play this. teaching this to a rookie like on his first week would be nearly impossible

  • keyboard, piano, lesson, things...... ^^

    I like that

  • Comment removed

  • Hi really great tutorial..but a little bit too fast, I started getting slightly irritated/agitated at the speed! However!.. if you keep cool and focus in on the keyboard and re-play the video several times, you can pick it up a little bit at a time - and will be surprised at how much of the piece you can learn to play in 15 minutes...and I'm a relative novice! Good for hand technique also and showed me where my fingers should be as you play the piano notes! Thanks for uploading the video.

  • i cant see the notes,i suggest you slow it down.and u forgot to teach the notes on the left hand

  • this is basic progression right? it sounds like it

  • longg nails

  • man this vid is very very very helpful. thanks

  • Listen closely: THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO. I watched this and learned most of the riffs right away. If you can't understand what he's playing than you haven't been learning blues for a long enough time. I suggest actually learning some blues riffs by ear and not asking for someone to spoon feed it to you.

  • hi guys, do any1 know who is the composer of this music ? thx :)

  • guys if you cant figure out whats going on here this riff is too advanced for you. I think the tuition is pretty good, he breaks it down well enough.

  • Excellent piano player. Really good but he seems to think people who watch this know what the fuck he's doing??

  • your a great piano player... but why show it so freaking fast if your trying to help us learn it? thats way way to fast for teaching someone by a video.. it seems like your playing it super fast to show off but being nice by saying i hope it helped you.. lol

  • woah !

  • You are fantastic ! ; )

  • Yeah, I'll get right on that... You can't break it down because it's too fast?!?!... good thing your new videos are better.

  • Hell of a good Piano Player!

  • what scale did you used ?

  • Nice! BTW – you can learn to play this song in half the time with new gadget that reads MIDI files.

    Google “Gizmag and PianoMaestro”

  • Nice job!

Just wanted to share with you a cool piano gadget recently featured in Gizmag

    Google “gizmag pianomaestro”

  • The bass line follows Gchord-G6-Gmaj7-G6

Then goes to D with the same type of chords as the original set (D, D6, Dmaj7, D6)

You can improvise Bb chords in the bass during the switch from D-G

Still trying to work out the ending...

  • terrible teaching and really bad angle of camera..... try better

  • Really, I wouldn't pay too much attention to these people who don't like the lesson. If they want to know what the left hand's doing, they're just not ready to get going on those licks. Great video, thanks for slowing those riffs down for me.

  • exelent player!! but very bad teacher...

  • you have nice hands

  • Just saying, the left hand is the g bass,(g-d; g-e; and g-f) just hit them twice each with swing. And if you dont know how to get the first riff on time, the notes are g, b flat, c, d flat, d, c, b flat, g, c, b flat, g, g. You play fast from the first d flat to the the last c, and put swing and time it right on the other notes.(they are played slower). hope this helps.

  • left hand?

  • Maybe if you showed two hands so people could see the bass. That would help./

  • I'm a guitarist and that was fantastic figuring these awesome licks out. Thanks!

  • Hi Johnny.

Yes, I Know David Sprunger's website, I think it's simply the BEST site to learn blues. Some lessons are free, for some others you have to pay, but they are not very expensive. I have bought a pair of lessons, and I'm very satisfied. I strongly reccommend it to everybody.

  • this is a pretty good tutorial, but just a thought on the parts we shoudl be able to just figure out, we probably wouldn't be lookin up video tutorials if we could just figure this all out

  • thanks for the lesson, you make it seem easy, and explain it well, Neal

  • Nice work :) keep it up

  • Band in a box, blues piano lessons??

  • 83 people suck at music

  • @Nick421ish it's 82 (just had to say it, no offense)

  • Too fast too break down? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you should know what notes you're playing..

  • please make a slower tutorial fr it pleease. (:

  • very, very good. was not expecting such a good performance as you sounded nervous! =]

  • great video thanks for the time, I almost got it all down just trying to get the speed right.

  • extraordinário

  • slappe riffs

  • yes u r going 2 fast and yes u can show it note 4 note. 2 say "i cant show it note 4 note" it only means you choose not to. giv a visual u can write the letter note dat corresponds 2 da musical note. how bout dat 4 an idea.

  • UR GOING TOO FAST!!!

  • =)))))vanessaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • this is your basic blues riff thats all. no more no less. i give it a 6. thank you

  • well, no offense, you're a terrible teacher. you're a great player, because i know what it's like to be playing something and know what you're playing, but not be able to express it

  • god bless your fingers!

  • for a moment I said .. this is another pointless video

But when the video later I was quite surprised at how fast you play and practice as you do.

    Thank you.

    Sebastian de Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • so good!!! how old are you? how many years do you study and play piano? very very good...all greatests!

  • what are the chords in your left hand?!

  • @RedWOLF4Life96 Low G with your ring finger and D wit your thumb, then move your thumb up to E while still tapping G with your ring finger.

  • terrible teacher but exelent player

  • @eye4gottwice and wow your a shitty speller =)

  • @eye4gottwice

left hand is your basic 12 bar blues

  • @eye4gottwice Guys, this tutorial is not made for Beginners! you have to know sth about blues, how to play the left hand in a blues song, and this is a relly easy scheme. You have to know the blues scale to play this! so he's not terrible, just plays on a higher niveau!

  • Comment removed

  • Are you James Blunt? You sound like him.

  • @Pianoninja924 - Yeah! That helps a lot. I was given a Casio keyboard and can practice on that. It's a start anyways :)

  • you did a great job. loved it. but I wish you'd shown what your left hand was doing.

  • @CarrollGazette Hes just doing 1,4,5 in G blues. So that'd be (in ocataves) GG CC DD CC and repeat. Then jump down to what I THINK sounds like the D below that and do the same 1,4,5 pattern, back up again to G then something that sounds like A minor (flat 7) then, F minor (flat 7) and then back to G. I could be wrong, but that what it sounds like to me. I hope that helps.

  • MASTER

  • You should show the steps slower.

  • You can play, but you are not gifted enough to be a teacher.

  • Sounds really good already!

You should now try to practice your rythm and timing a bit

and you should try to do play it a little bit more dynamic, you can try to use your sustain pedal at some parts, but not too many!

    Good job, keep going!

    Ivar.

  • good lesson :-)

  • please make a tutorial for it, and what is it called ?

    yur preee' good.

    (:

  • to hear this makes my heart go crazy :')

  • Oh my God, I think I can play piano now...

  • This made me played blues today on my melodion...thanks!

  • This made me played blues today on my melodion...thanks!

  • bom

  • and the left hand??????

  • @rob3854 STANDARD LEFT HAND

  • @rob3854 left hand is the easy part

  • @rob3854 the fucking left is not the RIFF! its a riff lesson.

  • @LorenaLiedig right, but i dont know this at that time.

  • @rob3854 haha :D okay dude xDD

  • @rob3854 Got chomped off in a car accident, oh i mean, this video is meant for those people who only have a right hand! :0)

  • @rob3854 its not tht hard to figure out if it shows the last two bases,..and from ear it sounds like its the regualr E blues

  • @rob3854 easy, G and D, G and E, G and F, G an E. and again

  • Niiice :D

  • hey man. I noticed your pretty damn good at figuring out notes on the piano. If you could check out the song good lord by brother ali and then put that on you tube, that would be dope. I just cant seem to find it myself.

  • and wouldnt that be a C9 not a G6 HMMMMMMMMMM MR MUSIC GURU

  • if you really bang on the Db at the beginning of that little trill thing for the first part is adds a little

  • good stuff man, im thinking of buying a left handed piano now lol.

  • hi its blawwal realy ur enjoy piano

  • Loved the video....helped me out a lot! U are a very good piano player. Pretty good tutorial even though it had a lot of umm's and hmmm's. There is a video of me with my band trype in pipes for pets your mama dont dance. Check it out!

  • your good but terrible tutorial.

  • I can't see your left hand....

  • dude, dont play first finger on black key...

  • GREAT TALENTS

  • awesome thanks, u got my sub

  • that's pretty sweet

  • wicked....!

  • at 1:23 I think yoi shouldn't use your thumb!...great anyway

  • gheghe, its no improvisation anymore, but only inprinted shitty riffs, which sound very good though ;)

  • lame

  • great playing

  • Well, looks like I am going to switch keyboards. The QWERTY one that I was using is not so pleasant to use, by far :-)

  • This sounds so cool!

  • I formed a blues riff myself if you guys would like to check it out at /watch?v=AeAZvYiCrYo please sub =)

  • @AverageJop25 Thats what your mum said.

  • slow down

  • Jp, very nice, nothing special, but nice..

  • gut gespielt

  • Damn! YER EFFIN GOOD! YOU HAVE THE FINGERS OF A GOD!!

  • @AverageJop25 he can play the piano Bud, ; ) try to pick this up your self! you'd be suprised!

  • for it to be perfect work on your left hand a bit, this is one of the best tutorial blues riffs ive seen. keep on rockin

  • not as easy as he wants us to believe.

  • I can play all the solo bits quite well with my right hand, but the hardest bit for me is getting my left hand to do a completely different thing.......keeping the rhythm

  • Great post. You have a knack for tutorial.

  • hi,i´m taking my first steps in blues piano and this is great lesson on it, thanks for sharing

  • Thanks for doing this!

  • My son is 12 and has great rock n roll piano teacher. He's really interested in learning Blues lines, and riffs, and this tutorial is great! He'd like to have an instructional CD that he could start/stop to learn similar new riffs. Which ones are best? (Could include a book).

  • No you really not nervous, very confident appearance.

  • This is a great tutorial. There are so many horrible ones out there, but this makes sense and you break it down AND we can see your hands!!! Thanks! xx

  • ok, but I have a question:

we know that improvisation is based on scales. i've learned some scales, but i don't know how to get an improvisation on it. so what's the critereon of the improvisation?

  • @davidtheguitarman:

you can play with rhytm. lets begin from the quarter-notes and play all notes. next you can play only the second note (for example, if you play C dorian scale, you can play: C, Eb, G, Bb, D, F, A etc.) but dont use only scale you learnt. the most important are ears, you hear that something is good or not. I play the piano too and I study jazz in Polish :)

  • Just combine some chords together and play the scale on a creative way!

  • tens unhas muito grandes pra pianista!!

  • does this work with beginners?

  • that is an odd question.. if you can do it, you can do it right, and if you can't, you can't?

  • Well impressed

  • O: omg

  • Thnx man :P I'v got to try that :P

  • sir,, please ,,,, can you give me a whole song ,, and a note (like c,d,e,a,b,,, just like this?) thanks

  • nice riffs :D

  • Bass went wonky near the beginning.

  • i cant see anything you do :(

  • nice man!!!

  • THANKS! I feel like I owe you a milion bucks now! But I don't, really ;^) Wish my video player was fast enough to keep up with your fingers at certain points, but the audio is very explanatory... Obrigada!

  • which notes are u hitting at 47sec. i watched it 50times but its too fast ;(

  • I really hope you read through your comments^^

It's really funny to see, how everyone develops his own style. Me, for example, I mostly play blues in C major, and then I play some variations of F, F# and C during the last two bars.

What I actually wanted to say is, that I like your style pretty much.

I hope you will check out my videos as soon as I get my ass up, record some and upload them :S

    Rock on ;D

  • Really helpful!!!thx man!!!!

  • This song is amazing but your going to fast and your changing the notes different almost every time
