  • Brave Saint Saturn??

  • See? These Christians are doing a wonderful job being Christ-like... preaching, respecting, speaking in love... why can't you do that?

  • So they are a Christian band? Although I'm an atheist, they're pretty good. I mean music is music, right? ha!

  • always blows my mind that britannick uses a religious song excerpt for their video but hey its a good song

  • The guitars in the verses = badass.

  • My buddy Sonnie- I like!

  • BriTANick!

  • Fall Out Boy.

  • So glad I got all their albums when they came out. So excited for their comeback next year. It was a long eight years.

  • i have been looking for this song for a long time. thanks for posting it

  • o-o I didn't know this was Christian music until I bought it on iTunes. Christian Music has become SO FUCKING AWESOME.

  • @DarthJackson2 thats the whole point; people think of choirs i think of Five iron and skillet when i think of Christian musci

  • Why are there trumpets? Ska is so weird.

  • @MessyPaint ska is so freakin' awesome!

  • @MessyPaint It's a 90's sound, sorry you can't comprehend that.

  • @galept Lol so much assuming. I grew up in the 90's, and I still don't understand the music from the time.

  • @MessyPaint Because trumpets rule

  • @MessyPaint lol you wont get it

  • WRONG ANSWER!!!

  • Anyone else notice this song is damn near impossible to find a download for?

  • 0:49 the part that BriTANicK puts on the end of their videos

  • nice!!!!!

  • After listening to the rest of it, I have a few comments to expand on that: the bridge, particularly, reminds me of early Chicago; the verses suffer by comparison to the close-register harmony in the chorus, which is *very* nice, and the verses also suffer because the bassline isn't strong enough to overcome those brass blips, which are out of key to the the music they're playing behind, which would largely go away if the bass was more prominent, I think. A simple remix might well "fix" this.

  • The chorus is better than the verses, yes, but I think it's largely production; a little work could pick it right up.

  • Possibly the only epic song to do with religion

  • @Ace4929 Have you ever heard songs of Skillet? Now that is epic christian rock

  • @brockmannika never heard it. Im not real big in the cristian rock scene, but the little i have heard was pretty lame. ill have to check that one out that you just mentioned

  • @Ace4929 Yeah u havta :) they are awesome my favourite from them is Comatose. Check it out

  • CHORUS SO GOOD ARGH

  • only good part the Chorus and it sounds so weird with the verses that sound so depressing :/

  • I thought this was Harvey Danger.

  • Christian Ska? An odd mixture, but fun. Thanks Britanick.

  • BRITANICK!!!!!!!!!

  • the chorus is so different from the rest of the song

  • hahaha what's with the epic flame war on here... people need to learn to grow up

  • @speakthetruthization what I preach? I'm a thirteen year old kid, I'm not preaching. I'm annoyed with you. I didn't take your initial comment out of context, I understand. You saw that some people were being unfriendly or dirty or mean, and because this is a video of a christian band you though that special rules applied to it, and that the people saying those things became less in God's eyes. I tried to give you a subtle hint with 4 words, and then a strong one with 4 paragraphs. Don't do that!

  • @ryank8843 this "kid" is a 27 yr old cartoon fan. Don't accept his superfluous speech and weak attempts to dominate you in conversation as anything more than just an attempt to feed his ego.

  • @chewp117 haha, the 27 is to get me into the adult rated videos and so my parents dont have to agree to my membership or whatever(and btw cartoons are awesome dont you dare say otherwise), I dont care what you think my age is tho. but chewp117 is right, I'm just poking a bear for the fun of it @speakthetruthization was just the easiest target, but I go on to religous videos with a multitude of accounts and start shit. I'm just a no good troll, can't say you guys havn't made it fun tho!!!

  • @ryank8843 and @speakthetruthization...

You just provided me with some good entertainment ^^ I thank you :P

  • @Chrii24744 I was put on this earth to serve :)

  • @ryank8843 hey you have to be careful being a troll now, a troll just got sent down for 4 years in the uk, i love freedom of speech, but thats what you get when you vote conservative

  • @jamietastic1978 haha, trust me when I say, I cannot go to jail for what I just did.

  • @jamietastic1978 Good thing we live in America. God Bless that 2nd amendment. Or whatever god or higher powers that be.

  • @ryank8843 9/10

  • @speakthetruthization Finally considering that this is the internet, and users wield the power of anonymity, I suggest you a) dont waste too much time trying to, "inspire" people who clearly have a different faith and b) not be so easily tempted to respond to things that will merely waste your time, such as your "conversation" with me, I am very confident that neither of us will come out with any different beliefs.

  • @speakthetruthization also, the, "Fuck you" was for irony considering your comment, the Jesus Rulez with a "Z" was to demonstrate my loyalty and my emotional age. Finally the use of only four words was a sentiment to the philosophy, "Less is More" and finally the sorry at the end had to do with leaving the alter and first reconciling with my brother/sister in Christ, that my conscience might be better cleared.

  • @speakthetruthization Its just a word I wrote down, no filthy language came from my lips. Also, if I am not edified by your comment, then it is of little worth, more over I can not conceive of an atheist reading your comment and being moved in a direction towards Christianity, so if it does not edify Christians or Atheists, but is simply a finger wave, then I suggest you should worry about the chips in your own eyes for now.

  • sorry...

  • @speakthetruthization FUCK YOU, JESUS RULEZ!!!!

  • I'm a fan of BriTANicK myself but it's not just the chorus for me that I like, I enjoy the entire song but the chorus is definitely my favourite part :) I don't entirely understand the verses (I really can't be bothered paying attention to the words, it's 3am right now and nor do I want someone explaining them to me). Pretty damn epic song.

  • Can You Hear The Bells Are Ringing !!!!

  • Actually, a cracked.com video brought me here. :3

  • @madscientist90 Ya that was BritaNick.

  • All the comments about the verses "sucking" in comparison to the chorus are very strange to me. The chorus is SUPPOSED to be more kick-ass than the verses. This song is all about being aware of the hopelessness of man's condition, that even Biblical heroes like Peter and Paul were weak and sinful, but we find hope and joy in Jesus. If you don't feel this way, then yeah, the song will not be that good to you. I love it, always have, and I'm glad BritaNick reminded me of it.

  • yeah, the chorus is the only good bit about this

  • i <3 this song... thank you britanick for bringing me here!!!

  • Love the whole song... yes, the verses and the chorus =)

  • is britanick singing it sounds like their voices

  • Not a fan of the verse, but the chorus kick SO MUCH ASS! Somebody should cover it, keeping the same chorus, but different verses.

  • I dont really like the lyrics but the beat is really good

  • the only good part is the "can you hear the bells are ringing" part... rest is really boring

  • 33 people cant hear far far away

  • Checked this out because of BriTANick like most, kinda disappointed with the song as a whole, nice chorus though, just awkward transitions from verse-chorus and poor chord structure overall.

  • FUCK YEAH!!!! love this

  • As I matter of fact, I CAN hear the voices singing "Far, Far Away."

  • I'm not a fan of Christian music, but this song itself is just too catchy to pass up.

  • the briTANick bit was really the only part i liked...

  • I usually hate christian music but these people are actually pretty darn good.

  • @Frozenbullies no...

  • @Frozenbullies No actually i think that's just the length of the song.

  • @Frozenbullies You're an idiot. Straight up.

  • @RageNineteen @AZAMENAZA @greenlegsandspam @retepenator

All very constructive comments... But with them being a Christian band what's to stop this not being a valid reason? Sure it could be a coincidence, but that's no reason to suddenly attack a fellow Youtuber.

  • @eggman6500

A "Fellow Youtuber"? Good sir, I do not know exactly what you have been smoking, but I would be very interested in learning where you procured it, so that I might obtain some for myself.

  • @eggman6500 Thank you, dear sir.

  • @Frozenbullies That bears a striking resemblance to that crazy fucker's justification for why the world was supposed to end a few months ago.

  • Anyone else skip to the chorus?

  • Wow, what a weird song.

(Depressing religious song) (FUCKING EPIC CHORUS) (Now back to the religious stuff)

  • @SRH911 Sounds like two completely different songs mixed together. Very odd.

  • the chorus seems like a piece from a totally different song from the rest

  • someone should write a different song based entirely on the chorus of this song

  • Anyone else only REALLY like the bit that appears in Britanick vids?

  • @tomcrowmike fuck yeah

  • @tomcrowmike i have to agree with you there dude.

  • hey if yall like ska, there is a band the insyderz are making a new album with Reese Roper, lending his vocals for a song or so, if you want to back the project, just go to kickstarter(dot)com and search for 'the insyderz'

  • BRITANICK.

  • best band ever

  • 31 people couldn't hear the bells.

  • thumbs up if britanick brought u here

  • @TheSupacrackhead thats why i searched it! lol

  • huh, I never realized it was religious.

  • Kinda sad about the break up and everything oh well good music is good music

  • great great song.....

  • :D Loved this song before Britanic. Feels hip.

  • BriTANick!

  • So I'm a staunch atheist and still really like this song .... weird.

  • @srrwb That's fair. FIF is just a flat out great ska band.

  • @srrwb Same here. Doesn't seem weird to me, it's a great song.

  • @srrwb Same here. It's just a good freaking song.

  • More people are yearly killed by Christianity than swine flu!

  • @mowinckel107 And even more peo - nah I'm not gonna start the flame war

  • for real, the only good part of the song is the chorus. everything else is so annoying. i can't even finish it.

  • I hope to see them preform in Heaven.

  • @TheNevia

I hope to perform alongside them in Heaven.

  • Praise Jesus!! Its to bad FiF isnt together anymore...i never got to see them live. But, Gods plan will unfold as it should.

  • @mdy18 Gods plans? pffft.

  • ALL HAIL JESUS!!!

  • this song makes me feel better. (:

  • in the context of the whole entire song... I'm real perplexed as to why BritaNick used it in their closing "credits". I'm real grateful they DID pick it...but just confused.

  • @mowriter

I thought it was because they were Christians.

  • @LethalLemonLime : who, Britanick? Never say never, I suppose, but their material is not very family friendly. Super freaking hilarious and awesome, but not good churchy stuff

  • @mowriter In fairness, not all Christians necessarily ascribe to the fundamentalist notion that anything that isn't completely wholesome and family friendly is by nature blasphemous.

  • @BackupMagus i agree with you there. i really prefer ska over traditional Christian music.

  • @mowriter They may have just thought it had a kickin ska chorus, like a lot of us seem to.

  • i was like 666. just thought i'd let you all know. Amazing song, especially the chorus.

  • i really love this song, lol. i love the OC Supertones too, i just really like ska, lol

  • BriTaNick?

  • I love the chorus the most.

  • @IndianaJoker Indeed!

  • 27 people CAN'T hear the bells

  • Found this through Britanick videos- proving the music companies' draconian policies to be worthless. Now I'm going to check out more of their music and maybe purchase some of it...

Imagine if their label had been the idiots over at Warner Music Group and this video had been removed- I'd never have heard of them or any of their music.

  • @jboze3131 you are my hero

  • @stefanlouter I do what I can.

  • @jboze3131 why dosent this have more thumbs up?!?!?!

  • @jboze3131

Found this song the exact same way.

  • @jboze3131 this should be said to a bigger audience!

  • @jboze3131 well, yes, you would have. You see, there's this thing called the internet. Pretty cool if I do say so myself, it's got these really cool and neat features, like search engines, just type some lyrics in, like, oh say "Can you here the bells are Ringing" and it will come up with stuff like "Five Iron Frenzy - Far, Far Away - Lyics/iTunes/Amazon Mp3" Crazy, Right. Ah, the stuff technology can do like giving a platform for idiots who have no understanding of IP rights and issues.

  • @elmepo232 very doubtful i'm going to purchase a song based on 5 seconds of it from another video. i'm much more likely to hear 5 seconds of it, search youtube, hear the entire song here, fall in love with the band, and then purchase their entire album and any future albums, buy tickets to their concerts, etc.

  • @elmepo232 Do you even understand what you're saying? My best guess is that you're arguing for jboze's point, although it seemed like you tried to discredit him with a completely irrelevant set of opinions. I'm not trying to be dismissive of your thoughts. I really am intrigued as to what you're trying to say.

  • I gave up on Christianity this year, but looking back and listening to all my old music, Five Iron Frenzy is still awesome. Some of the music I just listened to because it was "Christian" like I was supposed to be. Five Iron Frenzy, I listened to because it was good music.

  • @Grendelynden Same story for me. Love this band, regardless of religious beliefs

  • @Grendelynden I gave up on religion a while ago too. I'm curious as to why you gave up on it. I stopped believing because I just started thinking about it and realized it didn't make any since. And I'm listening to this song because i like the chorus :)

  • @Cagole13 its funny, thats the same reasoning that got me into religion.

  • @Cagole13 Hahah, same case here, actually (:

  • Above the women in the bottom corner and to the right of the guy with something in his mouth. Does anyone else think that looks like Philip DeFranco

  • They could be a really good band if they put their talent towards better things

  • @Cagole13 they are split up a long time ago bro. played together for quite some time though

  • @simple1210 Awe. Also ska is awesome.

  • Crazy but this is the first FIF song I'd ever heard! Now I've been listenign to them for 2 years. I probably will never get tired of them!!!!

  • Please THUMBS UP if you listen to FIF for their Christian lyrics!!!

  • This song still makes me cry..GLORY TO THE KING!!

  • I don't see how that just because this is a Christian song that it is not as good as it could be. With that very same logic you could argue that in a universe where non-Christian songs were considered strange that a song is not as good as it could be just because it is non-Christian. Just because a song is about something that you do not believe in does not make it worse, in fact, it should male it better because the songwriters put pride and joy into their work.

  • briTANick seem very unchristian to me, so why do they have a Christian song at the end of their videos?

  • EPIC SONG

  • WHO CARES IF ITS ABOUT JESUS? ITS AN EPIC SONG WITH AWESOME LYRICS AND A COOL RHYTHM, catchy too X)

  • Damn, I feel like they owe those briTANicK folks some royalties now...

  • Seriosly on the chorus is awesome, the rest is quite gay.

  • im not a Christian but i wont deny that this song is good :p really catchy

  • @NadirDbouk What do you mean "ruined a good song," they wrote it. Christian lyrics ruined the song, psh, some people are so close-minded...

  • best song ever!!!

  • @THExBACONxSTEALER Too bad they broke up 7 years ago. Lol.

  • what is Britanick? XD

  • if you know this from britanick it does sound weird doesnt it???

  • I wish they weren't gone... JEEZ I'd go see them in concert so fast if they were still together and touring,

  • Wow I Reaaaally like this song, but I don't really like the horn-it makes it sound like the theme for a tween-ish sitcom. That was my only complaint. Other than that this could be one of my new favorite songs. :)

  • @BroadwayQ09 the horn is needed for it to be in the genre of ska...

  • @simple1210

That's not true. This song, as with FIF's later stuff in general, is described by the band as "hard rock with horns." The true defining characteristic of ska is the off-beat "skank" guitar, which this doesn't have. Listen to their earlier stuff, with all the staccato up-strums. If you play that around anyone who knows what ska is, they'll immediately know it's ska. Ska horn lines could be part of an orchestral piece for all it matters. Rancid's Out Come The Wolves is mostly ska.

  • Reguardless whether its christian or not Reece Roper is an amazing writer and its nice to hear a band that doesnt just use 1 4 5 1 over and over. Judge music based on its quality not its inspiration

  • @wake9182 True! If God gave you a gift, I truely believe He wants us to be phenomenal at what we do. Five Iron Frenzy blends strong musical skill with a heart dedicated to Christ!

  • @PiecesofEternity Look at FIF's other songs. Try something like Wizard Needs Food Badly or Let's go to Canada

  • It surprises me that people can even say "This band/song would be cool/better if it wasn't Christian/about Jesus."

Artists sing about what inspires them, some sing about darker things some sing about happier things. If they make good music, does it really matter what they believe or what the "message" from the music is? Can't we just like a band for its musicality not what it believes?

I commend them for being able to say what they wanted and still make a great song from it.

  • @PiecesofEternity I tend to think that bands like FIF are of higher caliber because not only is the quality of their music really, really good, but their lyrics are also creative and convey a message other than that projected by most groups today. and, they aren't afraid to say they're Christian.

  • @GZUZFREEK2009 Catchy little tune. It's just so annoying how Christian bands have to make everything about Christianity, as though nothing can be fun or enjoyable if every other word isn't Jesus. That's boring, you know?
