I love the web. Several of these asses are now in favor of a 5 year tax increase.

Tom Harman to name one, now that he'll be termed out. All of the Republicans were in favor of 1A, the CA Republican party put up several million dollars in order to get it passed. With Republicans like this, who needs them. The whole party is scum and will continue to die a slow death in CA unless they start to fight for the taxpayer. None of the 5 that voted for 1A were punished by the Republican party.

California has a REPUBLICAN governor, wingnut. Used big money to have Gray Davis kicked out of office. Arnold made all kinds of promises he didn't keep.

We're a deficit and he's in charge. Keep on being reactionary 'cause you're really helping things.

I KNOW! But a liberal at heart with a liberal wife. He is just a republican because it was easier to defeat gray davis. Im glad those props didnt pass! Now they are cutting their own salaries, looking at other salaries to cut like UC presidents who make 400k. Also cutting programs that give to the clueless not the helpless. This was mainly cause by saying "NO" because now they know they have to do with what they got. We already pay for some of the highest taxes in the state for god sakes!

Democrats control both houses of the legislature by large margins, every other statewide office held by Democrats, both Senators Democrats, 34 out of 53 House members are Democrats... and you want to blame this on the Republicans? All of these propositions paper over the real problem - CA has increased spending by 40% over the last 5 years. This is lazy politics and bad public policy. Increasing taxes in a recession will simply delay economic recovery and make the recession worse. Vote no.
