@asylum4ink Check out Spiral Architect, they have clean vocals and amazing music. Spastic ink, Blotted Science, Behold the Arctopus, and Sleep Terror are all very good and have no vocals whatsoever. Ihsahn and Peccatum are very progressive and have clean vocals as well. This band is not a good representation of all of metal. Check out the above bands you may like a few of them.

deathcore is not just based on one riff and filled with breakdowns, best example is Carnifex. They play some different riffs, breaks and breakdowns to complete their songs.

@chris2k8ftw incorrect again, metalcore has alot of metal qualities to it like longer solos, not as many breakdowns, more technical riffs, metalcore is actually a decent genre and does require some skill, august burns red is a good example. i mean abr isnt metal compared to impaled, cannibal corpse, deicide or bands like that. deathcore is just breakdowns, short solos, and most of the songs are based off of one riff then surrounded by breakdowns

deathcore is not just based on one riff and filled with breakdowns, best example is Carnifex. They play some different riffs, breaks and breakdowns to complete their songs.
