I like the version of this song which appears on the Raindrops Rainbow E.P. much more than this one...I guess it has more of an ethereal quality to it...and, the vocals are stronger...
reminds of what Christian rock would sound like if it was good. i've always thought of HNIA as somehow Neoplatonic, but i mean this in a very broad sense. there is, of course, a huge difference between HNIA and the jonestown people. HNIA, to me, seem to be more interested in transcendence and reintegration than escape and rejection.
this is the song from the "Jones Town" cult that committed mass suicide. This song loops through the album in different forms and bits of lyrics of other songs. It is almost impossible to listen to one song and understand the vision that was this album.
@halfcabdisaster7 There not really a Christian band so to speak. This song has kind of some Christian theme to it in a way because of the message. Warren Defever has recorded a band called Velour 100, whick like His Name Is Alive has been compared to Christian rock.
hello! thank you for uploading this, i've been searching for the acoustic version forever, and i'm glad to have found this. do you have the other one by any chance?
Hello mate, I'm not too sure, is the other version go by the same name? If so I'll take a look through my collection for you, I'm also very pleased to know I've brought an end to your search, take care.
Yeah, the other version is the same name. It sounds fairly similar. Maybe it's from "Always Stay Sweet" as the person below me said it's different. I'm just glad to at least find one version floating around the internet!
It's the version from Stars on ESP. It on side 2 of the LP or the second version that album. There are three version on Stars. I think on Always Stay Sweet they have the acoustic version which is the last song on the LP.
I agree with the sentiment of this song

His Name is Alive is supposedly a line from notes taken in a history class about Lincoln.

One of the groups proving living on this planet is still worth it :) despite 'negative' lyrics in this one particularly... Long live HNIA.
