How do u catch em that way and what do u use for bait?I might have to try and get me some this year so I can finally try snapping turtle.One of my teachers eats them and she said that they eat snapping turtles and soft shelled turtles.

You can eat either one. Use empty soda bottles as floats...can be 2L, 1L or even 20oz. Tie a stout fishing line to it between 3 - 5ft. I use 50LB mono and steel leaders. Tie on a sinker and hook. Stuff some chicken liver into a piece of pantyhose hose for bait. Salted herring and chicken gizzards work good too

Awesome video guys.Those snappin turtles are fun to shoot and so are gar and carp.We shoot the gar and carp with bows and we shoot the turtles with a 22.I havent ever ate them but I have heard they taste good.

That's a "Common Snapping Turtle" or "Chelydra serpentina". They are very common here in the Americas. That one weighs probably about 10lbs. I would say that's a normal size for one, but I've seen them a lot bigger than that. They don't look it, but they are delicious!

The deep southern states of the US have Alligator Snapping Turtles. These monsters can get well over 100lbs.
