@actonbath Wow It's funny California is so strapped for cash and yet they outlaw dredging. I know a couple of full time crews that are out of work right now. I know I sure miss it.
@actonbath In the American River I'm sure you can go back and hit those pockets and get some thing but I think at least where I was that might take a while longer. There hasn't been enough water to even clean off the moss that has built up over the last 10 years in the creek.
lol i all ready left a comment but i cant help but leave another one for my grandpa i love it down there its great swimming in the swimming hole there^-^ best place ever!!! ^-^
Them crackers went and bought up all the land so they can continue to hoard all the wealth. Go out there and try to mine some of that gold, there's either a toll ranger station or private property signs everywhere.
Yes it is. Sorry I took so long getting back. I got back from this season mining a couple weeks ago and I'm just now getting to this stuff. I posted this seasons videos if any one is interested.
That's awesome - I'm glad you've had some nice finds, I pray they continue. Thank you very much for sharing, it's encouraging to see people succeeding - gives us down and outers some hope [08
Great video! It sounds like your planning on doing more videos, hopefully you explain the whole process of getting gold out of each spot on the river like you talked about on this one!
Awesome Vid. dudes! Like GungoHo1032 said, there is nothing like pulling money right out of the ground that hurts no one & helps clean up the water ways. No Boss man Hovering.
I had no idea the interest this series of videos would generate as a matter of fact I have two more volumes on this particular adventure the 4th is completed the third I'm waiting for an opportunity to get with my partner and show our combined bling. I also had a ton of questions from my friends I plan to answer in this yet to be started video. So if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
I belong to the LDMA (Lost Dutchman's Mining Association) and last week I went to the Scott River outing. It was a LOT of fun, and I came home with about a tenth of an ounce. There is just something about pulling money right out of the ground!
Thanks for posting this, well done video. Me and my dad went panning the other day, it's the first time i have seen gold in my pan. The gold was extreamly small though, when i would see a speck i would through the left over material in a bucket. The next day i panned the bucket and to my supprize there was a 1 gram nugget. Some how i missed it. it got me all excited!!! Finding gold is extreamly hard work though. takes alot of learning and experience.
Thanks Noah I'll be posting more on this adventure when I can. I was told that we can get satellite internet down in that steep canyon so were looking in to it. I'll try to keep everybody in the loop. Oh by the way I love your last series I think your one of the few that have what it takes to move far above this level keep up the excellent work.
It sure is Karen on this claim we can back the vehicle right up to the creek and unload. Usually this is not a good thing cause anyone can get to it but after hearing of the find 30 feet from where I'll be sleeping and knowing that it is private land that hasn't been over worked I have to admit I'm hopeful
Hey hankplow sorry I haven't been around I decided to go for it so I won't be around for the summer. The old guy is Bill he owns the claim I intend to video the journey so I'm sure that I'll have a lot of Great stories to pass on.
I got back from a scouting trip last weekend and while we were walking over the claim we were discussing the lease with the owner. His care taker pulled my friend Ron a side and pointed out a hole where two years ago the guy that had the claim at that time had pulled out $80,000. out of the bank. That was at the bottom of the claim. We are going to use a 5" dredge and start where he left off and see what happens.
Great Video! Thanks!

@actonbath I wish we had that kind of luck we got plenty of small pickers but not one clunker and certainly no growlers.

Not only do we still do it but its extremely profitable. My partner averages over 100 ounces every summer. Thats over $100,000 in three months.
