mmm... Stock sleeves. Maybe you can help me. I am building a D16A6 block for 20psi with T3. I have heard so many things from different people that I don't know what to do. Some say block guard is good, some say they cause problems and sleeve distortions, and others say they are NOT necessary on D series. Some claim to have done 30 psi on stock sleeves with no issues. Now... What happened in your case? How much PSI did you put on it? Is it still running with no headgasket or sleeve issues? Thanks

@elcano9 Block guards are good becuase they keep the sleeves from shifting and distorting at the top. You should be fine with block guards on 20psi as long as you don't go any higher. Anything after 20psi I would deffinetly go with some good sleeves, I have heard of people doing 30psi on stock sleeves without block guards, but they usually don't last long. All this coming from a Chevy owner LoL
