when i sample i import a song and highlight the piece i want and export it (all within audacity. everyone's got their own methods.

Total greatness...don't listen to the haters. They are mostly Lil Wayne and 808 Souljah Jeezy gimmick rap FANBOYS. Sampling is the original hiphop artform. And when it's done like this...is just incredible. Getting those few seconds and creating something new and raw....that's fucking hiphop. Nuff respect. God bless.

It is me once again I have a mpc1000 jjos a triton extreme and i want to know what is the processof sampling and chopping then playing the sample back smooth i know how to sample and chop but when i play back the samples don't play smooth

Practice, it's more than having the equipment, it's about reading the manual, then finding flows and being in tempo with the music.

Good work overall. I just think you should change the way u work on the toms. If I'm right, you're just using the note repeat and that makes them sound very artificial and undynamic.

Play them yourself on the keys or you MPC, that will make them way more fitting I bet.

Good look homie...ofcourse you can sample from a cd its how I started out...I got the turntable because I discovered a big record store near me and decided to go that route and I just got hooked on it. But yea fam you can sample from cd all day.

hey dru do you drop you samples straight into the mpc and if so do you need a pre amp or will a regular turntable be fine??

A regular turntable is all you need. Go directly from your turntable audio out into the record in of the mpc. Or you can go into your computer and chop the sample in there and then load into your mpc via floppy or compact flash depending on your setup.

dope video 1 question tho. how do you be sampling directly in to the mpc without yousing all your sound memory? cuz i cut my sample b4 hand and load onto a pad then taking up 1400k. (most of your standard mp memory)This then leaves me with A) no drum sounds left on memory. or B) no more sample pieces per track
