u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a litle 10 year old girl was raped and murdered in 1945. her body was not fund until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos 30 minutes the dead girl will appear in your room tonight and hant you and kil you. well you better start 2 copy and paste

I have not seen the film but I love the trailer. Looks like a quality family drama but after reading the comments, maybe I wouldn't like the film if it's not like the trailer.

@GemmaHayesFan The negative comments are because this movie is so much BETTER than the trailer makes it look. It is a very powerful "quality family drama" and it's one of my all-time favorite movies.

@KellyGreen5555 Garry Marshall was a pretty talented director in his day. I don't think he could have improved on Redford's directing but it certainly would have given Ordinary People a whole new flavour. Of course as a screenwriter myself I see things from a whole other perspective.

I was making a joke. "Ordinary People" is a heartbreaking masterpiece. Garry Marshall makes awful rom coms...combining these two is a recipe for disaster.

@KellyGreen5555 wouldnt exactly call Pretty Woman an awful rom com. Was nominated for best picture in 91 and Julie Roberts won an oscar for her performance. Generally can't win an oscar with good direction. also this guy was responsible for some ground breaking comedies of the the 1970s. Like I said in his day this guy was brilliant.

@richardthewriter "Pretty Woman" is a vile film from 1990 which was dismissed by critics but a commercial hit.
"Pretty Woman" was not nominated for anything except it did garner a Best Actress nomination for the terribly overrated Julia Roberts (she lost)
I wouldn't exactly call television's "Laverne & Shirley' "groundbreaking."
Julia did win her one and only Oscar for 2000's "Erin Brockovich."
You say you're a screenwriter, so it's surprising how little you know anout cinema.

I love this movie! I wish someone would buy the DVD from WB's and put it on here. This is one of the few movies that still makes me tear up a little.

I love this film and completely agree about the trailer!
Very odd trailer that is NOTHING like the film.
And it weirds me out that some random kid narrates it. Maybe Charlie Korsmo was unavailable?? :)
