  • ever gonna do a video in the mini bics?

  • Good tip! I might have to look around for these little guys. I like the Scripto compared to the BIC because you are able to adjust the flame size.

  • While they might be smaller, I don't think they're as good as the BICs. The mini BICs are specced for 1450 lights (says so on the packaging). I'm guessing this one gets way less. Also, the BICs' construction is pretty high quality, and they're made in a 1st world country (France). These ones are probably made in vietnam or something. I have a mini BIC that is over 10 years old and still almost full. I wouldn't take chances with my emergency equipment.

  • i have a lighter that is the size of a nickel

  • So....wheres the survival tin video Jeff? Haha.

  • Fuck survival tins.

  • the split pea lighter is smaller than those lighters

  • the split pea lighter is the smallest lighter in the world

  • The mini BIC would be a lot more reliable though, as a smoker I usually find with cheap lighters they'll break or stop functioning properly fairly easily

  • I firmly believe you get what you pay for, Scripto IMO will not be as a simple bic lighter.

  • lol 18th of jan is my b'day

  • zippo makes a throw away half the size of those

  • Wow a 4min video on how you purchased small loghters

  • Comment removed

    Mike.

  • thx for taking non-us viewers into account

  • Thanks for the heads up . Would like to see your survival tin or B.O.B. if you have time.

  • i love lighters but i cant buy them cause im 14 and live in england, u have to be 18 to smoke and buy lighters here, but im really into them i dunno why i just really love how they work and all

  • I live in mexico and here you can buy alcohol and tabacco aand drive and im only 13, but i dont buy alcohol or tabacco just lighters.

  • hey cutlery lover when r u going to have the next giveout

  • Give Jeff a break, he cant go giving stuff away every week.

Personally i think the next giveaway people should have to pay $5 or something to enter then at the end of the period, the thing gets bought with that ammount. But come on, he has just had a giveaway.

    Nice video btw, 5 stars.

  • This is so cool! hey thanks for uploading this video. I&TBPSQUOm going to subscribe!

  • Poo... nothing on amazon, how old do you have to be to buy a lighter, I got zippos, but my parants bought em... IS it 18? 17?

  • im 14 and i was beginning buying lighters 2 jears ago so :D (i livein netherlands maybe usa is different)

  • i'm 15 and i buy lighters xD idk where you live :) but i live in holland (europe) greetz...

  • its 18 for all tobacco products, and lighters and all that stuff.

  • Bah, well only a year to go..

  • we have smaller ones in ireland.

  • cool, if you ahve a camera make vid, I woudl love to see them...

  • Hey Jeff, you're probably already aware but I just went to the County Comm website and they now have available a smaller version of the Peanut lighter called the "Split-Pea."

The site says it is 1.3" overall length and 0.5" in diamater. It's selling for $11.00. Pretty cool.

  • yup, workign on gettign one,w ell see and a few others thgins to...not sure yet have to wait and see, but countycomm has their own videos here on youtube you know, you cna check otu a side by side comparison if your interested...they use the same anm hear coutnycomm...

  • lighter to cease to function properly. Again, not sure if that is the case with these lighters, just something to keep in mind. Not trying to plug Bic, they just seem to make one of the better disposable lighters. If you are going to use a lighter for survival, I suggest testing them first, especially considering how inexpensive they are. Hope someone finds this helpful. Great videos Jeff. Five stars. Keep up the good work.

  • yes cheaper is not always better but so far these have ben as reliable as bics...but as far as fire is concerned a small kit shoudl be a backup plan and you should go into the woods with multiple ways to amke fire...

  • Indeed. I've just had quite a few non-Bic disposables of different brands bust on me after only using them for a week or so. Bics usually run until they're empty, unless of course I lose them. I'll have to check these Scriptos out. Keep churnin' those videos out! We'll all be anxiously awaiting the next one.

  • In general it's bad to leave disposable lighters to burn.

I had a bic lighter "explode" on me... Not like grenade, huge fire-ball.. but rather the upper assembly came apart with a nice little pop, after I had it ignited for too long.

  • I don't usually post comments but I thought in this case I may be able to offer a little insight: I unfortunately smoke and, through my years of lighter use, I have found Bic brand disposable lighters to have slightly better quality than cheaper "dollar store" type lighters. Haven't had a lot of experience with Scriptos, but with some cheaper lighters, if left lit for an extended period of time, it seems that some sort of plastic piece in them will melt, causing the (continued in next comment)

  • i'v seen smaller =]

  • haha cool

  • just to note to everyone this is the "perfect" option, like mentioned mini bics or a peanut lighter or prmanant match or even a zippo woudl be fine, this just happnes to be VERY small, and VERY cheap...

  • thats ok...

  • thse work on the very same priciple as bic lighter using butane fluid, a spark wheel and a flint...

  • Would also like to see your survival tin video :)

  • hahahahahaha!!!!

id like to see a "flamethrower" from one of those!

  • my dad gets these from the air force there pretty cool he says there crack lighters ha

  • what about the peanut lighter

  • It's too thick.

  • tape it to out side? its water prof

  • the peanut lighter is also great, this is just a good cheap option, disposable lighters cna be thrown everwhere and be forgoten about...I suggets this for only one reason, its cheap and small...

  • cool video !

  • i think that the utility, such as the windproofness and burn time of a zippo far outweigh the fact that is half an inch bigger.

  • zippos are alos very good, but you cant store zippos long term with fluit in them unless you seal off the crease with say a thick rubber band or like a piece of inner bycicle tube so the fluid doesnt leak out...

  • oh yeah, i forgot about that factor

  • hey cutlery lover, cute lighters!

i have a question, i became partner recently, and iwas wondering, how did you make your video and channel banner?

thanks for all your help! :D

  • i just bought a scripto electronic at walmart yesterday and already its my fav lighter, besides my zippo.

  • Scripto electric ones are fun..

Once it runs out of fuel, you should be able to pop off the button and use it as a small little shocker(if it's the one I'm thinking of).

  • nice find

    never seem those b4

seen small lighters but they wer bigger than those and pretty crappy

  • Deffo NOT the worlds smallest lighter!

  • so far this is the wolrds smallest disposable I have ever seen, but your right now the worlds smallest lighter in gneral...

  • thats awesome, how big is the flint in them?

  • same size as any other lighter, ame size as the one in a zippo...

  • SURVIVAL TIN!!!! plz show it! ur awesome! im a huge fan!

  • i don't know if its just the video but my mini bic is smaller than that

  • I was thinking the same thing. No way this is smaller than my MINI Bics. But sure enough...measuring one right now and the length of the MINI is a little under 2-1/2 inches considering the protruding sparkwheel (2-3/8 inches considering just the steel hood). The MINI's width is 7/8".

So...if the length of this lighter is exactly 2" (compared to the 2-1/2" of the MINI), well...

I will say that acc. to the ruler in the video, this lighter looks wider than the 3/4" quoted by cutlerylover.

  • Yep, looks like 7/8" to me. What do you guys think?

Hey cutlerylover, thanks again for this vid my man! I've got a Rite-Aid right down the road. I'll have to pick up some. Thanks again.

  • mini bics are smaller

  • compared directly to a mini bic these are smaller, I had them both in ym ahnd at the store...

  • are the mini bics thinner in profile?

  • well the mini bics have a rounded oval profuile as apposed to this flat one...Ill have to do an update to compare the 2 down the road...

  • why not use a mini bic?

  • mini bics are fine, but these are cheaper and smaller...

  • i have seen them alot there ok i stick with my zippo i really dont like them to much 5/5

    eric

  • what state do you live in

  • pennsylvania

  • another very nice instructional, good job

  • That's certainly cheaper than stowing a throw-away zippo by far. I'm going to run out and make a survival kit to go next to my first aid kit when I go mountain biking now. This video just kind of dawned on me that I hadn't made one yet, so thanks for making me think of it.

  • ok thanks...Ill correct it...

  • nice vid

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thx great

  • that sound pretty cool for a little survival kit. when do you think your survival videos will come out?

  • those r tiny imma get some oh and u spelled tiny wrong in the description bar but good find

  • Peanut lighter on Countycomm is smaller and tougher, :/.

  • can u make a vid on starting a fire with a fire piston?

  • Very nice, I want to look into getting one
