not a collector but these are the best. Our thrift store always has one in stock and we've purchased 4 of them. We bought a DS 50 that's all original for 5 dollars, a Heritage II for 5 dollars, a Classic Omega all orginal for 4 dollars, and a G3 for 10...we have them just in case one breaks...and they run great
@professorkiwi i would have to say the kirby g4 and the tradition i was go to a thrift store and maybe see if they have a kirby tradition or i will get one of of a website like amazin or ebay
Just bought a G6. Whats with the "limited edition" tag on it ? Was there a regular edition ? Also says 2001 on the front. Is that the year ? Interesting video btw. not sure the point other then to showcase the diff. models ? Was hoping to see some sort of difference between old and new, but i guess unchanged 30's technology is still working for them.
Hi I've always been wondering what makes some of the G series screech back and forth like so? aha just curious :D I hope u know what I mean by screech.
i have a g6 2001 edition bought at a thrift store for $64 and i love it, it is my daily driver i am in the process of getting all the accessories for it i just got the shampoo head for it from a vacuum store dumpster(just the head). I also have a classic- omega, heritage 2 turbo,512,tradition,and a 1300 comvac.
This is strangely entertaining...didn't think I was going to watch all six minutes! I am from a Kirby household; my mom has a Legend II, I have a Heritage II, and just bought my sister a Heritage II. Crazy attachments that come with these! "Handi Butler," "Suds-o-gun," etc. Still don't know how to use my shampooer. Kirbys rock! Buy the best and cry once!
People don't buy kirby because of the high price. I bought one 15 years ago; it works perfect and my house is really clean because of it. On another hand, few of my friends bought cheap vacuums, they did not want to "waste" money as I did. In 15 years, each of them had to replace they vacuums at least 2-3 times, each of them. Listen to me: It's a lot cheaper to buy good quality from the beginning. You don't replace, no frustration and you have the best all the time.
@GreenTea4101 negative. they actually offer monthly payments. im paying 100 a month for 11 months. i got a pretty good deal compared to the prices online. i got the sentria complete package with all attachments, hose, and shampooer. matter of act i just cleaned my car with it for the first time yesterday and the was nothing this vacuum couldnt get!
however with a used one u won't get the lifetime warranty sentrias are the latest but here in just alittle bit they might be coming out with a newer model soo if u haven't gotten one yet might wanna hold out new or used ur getting a deal i'd recommend buying it new for the warranty it will give you peice of mind and buying it used isn't alot different in price not enough to negate the LIFETIME warranty anywho... great vacuums though tottaly destroys any vacuum i've demoed against without fail
Attach the head like you would attach the power head, attach the resevoir to the blowing side of the kirby, attach the 2 with the little hose you get with the shampoo unit and you're good to go. Turn the foam on, make sure the head is lowered as far as it will go and lay the strips of shampoo. Then turn the dial to 'off' and run over the shampoo again so the brush roller can work it through the carpet. Done. Vaccuum once its dry.
I have the kirby diamond ultimate , i love it , thinking up getting the sentria soon , i love to get the kirby out and suck up different things , i love to break up crumbs , and watch them vibrate in front of the vacuum
that TechDrive sound is so distinctive, I have a G4 with a G3 handle and G7 bag coupler, with a short computer power cord going to an extension cord that is now its unofficial power cord, due to a Kirby replacement being AU$75, and the fact that they are weaker power cords anyway.
Oh yeah man think of all the germs it gets rid of and the dirt. And the lifetime of a Kirby too - my grandmother has had the same one for over 40 years the Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50
Overall In my opinion if you really want a Kirby, get a used one you would be just as happy as if you got a new one. From my standpoint as a owner of a cleaning business I would take Riccar for better convenience, performance and value for the dollar and much easier to service in the field (this is only my personal opinion please don't reply to this comment dogging down riccar simplicity or whatever)
All of my kirbys are used. I never bought a new one. Except for that HII. It's all just for fun. I currently use Riccars in my cleaning business. I own 2 Riccar 8925s(7 years) and The supralite (2 years). dont worry jon, I have nothing against riccars. im a huge fan of them. The riccars are very durable, and parts are very easy to find and replace. I've been very pleased with them.
lol, that was for anyone else that tries to say otherwise, yes indeed they are very durable units you can't go wrong with them especially considering the fact that they don't cost lots of money well more then your average vacuum but if you're looking to buy a Dyson (aka diesoon) take a look at Riccar/Simplicity
I have a Kirby Ultimate G it is a decent machine but my Riccar Radiance really blows it away and easier to use in my opinion. don't get me wrong the Kirby is still a nice machine but would rather buy one used if I did get one to save lots of money. All Kirby G series perform equally even to the new Sentria. I sold them and out it against a G5 I came across when demonstrating them and it performed no better then that G5
Hey Prof.Kiwi! I love what your doing with your vac vids! I actually just got recruited onto Kirby's team! so i was just wondering if you got their latest vac, the Sentria? its a very wonderful vacuum, so please reply back! i don't know if i have to have any vids for you to leave me any comments, but maybe i'll make one for you of the sentria!
hey my freind i fall asleep to the sound of kirbys and hoover could you do a long vid for me so when i cant sleep it will help, pleeases genuine request, steve
