  • Wow I reallllly love this video. This combined with another one on just the basics made it so easy to learn =]. Took me about 4 hours and now I can confidently do it for ~20 seconds. More practice and it shall be natural feeling I reckon :). Thankyou.

    Subbed and liked =D

  • i still can't get it ;/

  • super slo-mo juggling ftw!

  • it took 1 whole day for me to learn this pattern hahaha

  • If only the super slow mo was how gravity worked when juggling... Then I could get it.

  • very nice vid! thanks helped me a lot!

  • Yaaa... im gona learn this ? :DD

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Dude thank you so much for this awesome video. I honestly thought i would never get it then it suddenly just clicked together, all thanks to this video. Now all i need to do is tighten it all up and make it slick and effortless like you do. :) Do you have any other slow motion tutorial videos? If not, you should film loads more. Thanks again

  • @welshelf29 glad I could help. I have a bunch of other slow motion juggling tutorials. Most of them were posted a long time ago but search my channel for more tutorials.

  • muy bueno eh

  • Thanks, I learned this trick in a day thanks to this video.

  • hey what kind of juggling balls are those?

  • nice music opeth is one of my favorites. no one knows about about them in the states lol

  • I used to juggle like that with arrows, but then I took an arrow in the knee

  • mills mess, is essentially upside down jugglers tennis

  • o cara só faz a mesma coisa

  • @lucyeinacio claro seu burro. ele tá ensinando o mill's mess.

  • Wow good job. Just curious am I the only one who has trouble keeping there mouth shut while juggling? He seemed to do a good job at it

  • @Mrsparky492 i was once juggling in front of a mate and he said are you gonna catch it in your mouth i stopped and stared at him and then realized that i had had my mouth wide open ever since i have tryed to keep my mouth shut........... its hard!

  • wow opeth

  • I didn't primarily learn it this way. but using this as an exercise REALLY helped me learn it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :)

  • i thought that i had invented a new trick as this is how im learning it

  • Oooooooooopeth!

  • God bless you for the Opeth \m/

  • as you already know, this video looks flippin sweet. nice camera work!!!!

  • cool vid, but im only liking it because of Opeth :)

  • 8 personas no pudieron xD

  • what program?

  • I am a french juggler and your video helps me a lot. I've try this trick for 2 weeks and i couldn't do it and then i saw your video and i do now. Thank you very much.

  • thanks a lot!! I learned it thanks to this videoo!!

  • you're left-handed or right-handed ? please help me ;)

  • really good, breaking it down with slo-mo really helps :)

  • nice song:)

  • Finally I learned!!

"U're amaing just the way u are"

  • excellent choice in music

  • It turns out I've been doing Mill's Mess the wrong way for a while. It was easy to switch but I was surprised, the way I'd been doing it moved the balls in the same pattern...

My way of doing it doesn't use any reverse throws (i.e. left hand throwing to the left) from the hand which is crossed over- it's sort of like two windmills together...

  • is it an overthrow then an under ? for step 1 ?

  • thumbs up for excelent slowmo quality ;)

  • Great video, excellent song choice!

  • OPETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lml Opeth lml

  • name of song?

  • @idoloideale Opeth - Windowpane

  • @idoloideale Windowpane... The band is called Opeth

  • i know how to do mills mess already but i can't do a single one of your steps. this isn't helpful at all. the first steps are more difficult then the final one

  • I can't even do step 1 :( Any tips?

  • Very nice with the slow motion that really helped a lot

  • those are some fucked up juggling balls

  • is this harder or easier than orka's mess?

  • thanks man! ive watched and googled how to do this and this is by far the simpliest demo ive seen, and the one i learned most from!

  • I just watched this because of the awesome slow motion playback. I have no plans on learning how to juggle.

  • Thanks for these slow motion tutorials/vids. Found this really helpful for understanding what goes on in the trick :)

  • Wow! Thanks man! This video was very helpful! Many thanks! :)

  • I want to film me juggling in slow motion and watch where my eyes are looking. It was very chill watching you juggle in slow-mo combined with the music, awesome.

  • what balls you use?

  • amazing video..thank you! all i need is to practice more the cascade so i can move onto this :)

  • First of all: thank you very much indeed. Now Mills' Mess isn't so messy, ehe.

I spent 12 years of my life with my skateboard, but I got a lesion on my knee few years ago... then, few moths ago, I started juggling, and I just love it, mainly 'cause I don't feel my knees...

What about some clubs' slow motion tutorials? It would be really nice.

Thank you again, keep skateboarding, keep juggling, stay alive.

    Regards from Amazon.

    Ĥod

  • is it bad for ur arms to hit eachother when u do mills mess

  • bravo!!

  • This vid is awesome, made it so simple! Congrats on a brill vid!!

  • OPETHHHHHH!

  • THANK YOU!!! I spent so much time on other tutorials which over-analysed the pattern. Your was simple, and brilliant! I cannot thank you enough!

  • Brilliant tutorial, learned from this in 3 days! watch his arms closesly :)

  • Is Mill's Mess just false shower but switching direction every time? That's what it looks like to me but I think I'm doing something wrong

  • Comment removed

  • Some matrix shit right there

  • my brain wont swallow

  • Is Mills Mess, Tennis and reverse tennis at the same time?

  • @almostskater008 Not really. With tennis your arms never cross and there are no under-arm throws.

  • @almostskater008 Reverse tennis is where you hit the racquets at each other with balls?

  • dude your awesome, your video made it so easy!!! i can do it now :D

  • any one who advertises on youtube is officially the devil.

  • I think you should not throw the balls straight - cus Mills Mess is just Windmill which changes direction after every third throw. I tried to learn it from your video and simply couldn't do it that well. I've got a book called "The enzyclopaedia of ball juggling" which told me it's windmill with changing direction - learned windmill, changing sides without 3 ball cascade in between - done. It's still a pretty tough trick.

Your video is still good, just think it's not the easiest way to lean it

  • you skating?

  • i learned it from this video

  • Having it in slow-motion is SOOO helpful. It's still confusing as I'm trying to learn it, but at least I can follow step-by-step.

I can do it on both sides now, I'm just having trouble transitioning from one side to the next.

  • nota 10 cara muito bom mesmo ajudou pakas

  • EXCELENTEEE! :D

  • i have been trying this for ages and looked at loads of videos. this is the only vid. i have finally got it!! :D

  • Great, I learnt to do this trick in about 30 mins or something, nice vid. A tip to others - once you try to do the full pattern, notice that the ball you grab and move across to the other side is the same ball every time. Follow it in the video. I was leaving an extra beat in there.

  • Last spam comment from me: another thing that might be easy to get wrong: you're suppose to catch the incoming ball while you still have your arm under the other.

  • Yes that was indeed easy to fix. What I did before was i simply started from the cascade and directly did an under arm throw. What you're suppose to do is, right before you do the under arm throw you do a "over throw" as if you were gonna do the normal cascade backwards. You show us this in the tutorial with "straight up". I somehow missed that no matter how clear you made it. This might help someone else that learned it the wrong way at first.

  • I will constantly click 0:23 and see that one. If i understand it correctly it's that move with both hands that you're simply combining, just like i did, or thought i did.

  • Well, today i will simply try to figure out what im doing wrong and change that. Hopefully it wont be too hard.

  • I think this way of learning it is the easiest, at least for my part. Thanks man.

  • thanks man, i got it!

  • Right... now I'm wondering what the trick I learned is called. because I am the same I learned "mills mess" naturally in my juggling... then watched a tutorial and thought I didn't know it.... now I learned something that is defiantly different then mills mess.... but I thought that is was.... it's similar.... except the middle ball changes spots.... it doesn't say in the same place like his does in the video, does anyone know?

  • @emilyunderpressure1 You'll have to post a video of your pattern.

  • @emilyunderpressure1 Just what happened to me. I've been juggling for about 2 months and have just started thinking about developing my juggling. all i can do is normal cascade and backwards.

But when I saw this tutorial i simply thought "well lets just try throwing the ballunder my arm and see what happens" and i found that it was really easy.

So in less than 2 hours i was able to juggle by continously crossing arms just like in milss mess, but it's not mills mess. That was yesteray.

  • @emilyunderpressure1 enseña pe!!!

  • @emilyunderpressure1 Could be Burke's Barrage. I learnt that naturally in my juggling, it is similar to mills mess, then i addapted it and then could do mills mess.

  • Hey, just want to say thanks!

Watched this video and went to practise...

About 15 minutes into trying I managed four repititions of it on different sides each time :)

    Fantastic Guide!

  • Thanks, this vid helped me master mills mess! Using your vid for side circles now and trying to master that.

    Thanks!

  • I've been trying to learn mills mess for 2 months. Now I noticed that i already know how to do it and already been juggling it for a month about, just allways thought i've been doing continous under the arm throws....it was kind of a shock :)

  • @TheJonnij I did something similar. I learned mills mess as shown in the video and then I saw a tutorial that looked different from what I was doing. So I was trying to re-learn it using the steps in the tutorial and after a while I figured out that I already knew how to do the pattern. It's funny how you can juggle a pattern but then you have to really practice to juggle only a subset of it.

  • @TheJonnij yeah i did pretty much the same as you. except i didn't think it was continuous under the arm throws. i'd seen someone doing mills, without knowing that it was mills, and i thought, "right, juggle, but keeping crossing + uncrossing arms" only later did i realise.

mills mess isn't continuous under-the-arms, that is chops

  • thx

  • I can get 9 catches out of this pattern (I think it's one full rotation of the pattern) but I can't get any further. What am I doing wrong, and how can I remedy it? Thanks

btw very helpful vid, thankyou =D

  • Man, I wish Youtube was around when I was learning to juggle. I think I learned Mill's Mess the hard way. I already knew how to outside juggle, which seems to be part of the trick. Next I learned how to juggle with my arms crossed. Then, like Gary Larson said "A miracle occurs" and I could do mill's mess by swapping arms that are crossed.

  • Thanks, I think I just learned to do Mills mess because of your video. Seriously, your method is very simple and awesome!

  • Hey, I looked through all this videos with strange patterns, but I am looking for a slowmo on the classic 3 ball juggling, do you have one or know where I can find?

    Regards

  • @allofyourdreams I never have made a basic 3-ball cascade tutorial. Maybe I should.

  • i like your squishy balls haha nice

  • OMG you are awesome right when i clicked video i was like holy shit its opeth, my favorite band and windowpane is awesome, my personal favorite is beneath the mire but this kicks ass and nice juggling this video helped a lot. thanks man

  • omg the slowmotion is so creepy...

  • THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! I have been trying to learn this trick for AGES!!! and about 30sec after watching your vid I got it. thank you so much great tutorial.

  • for how long did it take you to learn mills mess?

  • I like the song, but great vid man thanks alot. Also again great song choice Opeth is the greatest.

  • am i really the only person here who cant do any patterns with 4 balls?? how long does it take to learn these tricks? i think my juggling genes suck, it's not my thing ;_;

  • i bet your cam was expensive. thx 4 the upload

  • I was so sick of that japanese kid showing off around the net.. no slow motion, result: he does look cool but no one learns.

Thanks guy, you can tell the difference between someone clever and braggers XD

  • great tutorial! I really love your way of teaching mills mess. It's much different from most of the tutorials I've seen. now I've got it down thanks to you ;)

  • Who sings????

  • This videocamera must be awesome, isn't ut?

  • GREAT tutorial vid with great song! Thanks for letting me get knowledge of both! :-)

  • was not expecting a good bit of Opeth to a juggling video... awesome, great turorial too.

  • TY for this Video. I have watched some Mills mess tutorials. But never made it... After watching your Video it worked step by step and now i can this trick ;)

    TY

  • Thank you this is awesome. you may not be the best juggler in the world, but its a much better lesson than a lot of these so called tutorials on youtube.

  • ggöfö

  • gracias!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's easier: 3 ball mill's mess or 5 ball cascade?

  • @ltsjack For me, 3 ball mills' mess is a lot easier. I'm still not very good at 5 ball cascade, but I can do 3 ball mills mess all day long.

  • @ltsjack it depends on what you have practiced most

  • @ltsjack 3 ball mills mess is loads easier than a 5 ball cascade. in my opinion, 3 ball mills mess is probably about the same level as juggling a 4 ball fountain. But everyone finds certain things harder than others.

  • @Capricornwhite i think its harder than i fountain .Maybe its as hard as a fountain variation like fountain-outside throws maybe. For most people it is definetly harder than a normal fountain.

Anyway, awesome tutorial. I know what to do now, all that's left is practice, practice, practice. When you do it it looks fkin smooth.

    Thanks!

  • Hee, man! Super thanks for just uploading this video, I could tell my parent proudly that I could do the Mills Mess, after I watched this video! I will tell my friends that this video is very helpfull!

  • Starting without your hands crossed made learning this so much easier. So did the 300 fps. Thanks.

  • Slow motion makes everything look cooler! lol this vid taught me how to do it and now ive perfected it..Thankyou this video

  • u're the fucking master

  • thank you so much for this tutorial

  • KOOSH BALLS :D

  • Thank you so much for explaining this trick. I've learned a lot from you. Thanks

  • thank you so much for the class!

Once a hippie guy tried to teach me the mills mess trick, but he couldn't do it in slow motion!! :)

Now I have learned the trick it seems so easy!!

    Greetings from Brazil!!!!

  • How many days is this taking you guys to learn? i only can do half of the trick so far...working on perfecting the half so i can practice the other half. then sooner or later BAM! i'll put them together!

  • This way of learning it is not for me, i tried this way for a while before i learned it another way, but it is an interesting way of going into mills' mess from cascade although it doesn't flow as well.

  • hey man nice video great shots!!

  • well made video that's easy to follow, thanks for making.

  • the thing with this trick is how the hell is it done. but i finally understood when i watched this. good tutorial ;)

  • hi

    excellent video

    where u get those balls?

  • They are koosh balls. You can get them anywhere toys are sold, really.

  • THANKYOU! All the other videos I watch on how to do this trick are aweful! I finally found one that teaches me well! Bravo!

  • what the name of this music?

  • Windowpane - Opeth

  • Oh wow... ok, i've been doing that trick for ages but slightly wrong. Thank you so much! I've been wondering how to do this trick for ages! Those stupid tutorials using two balls are so confusing!! :S THANKS!! 5 stars!

  • what balls r u using?

  • Koosh balls.

  • Stayed just to ear the music... Opeth is a great band

  • Awsome!!!!!!

  • What I really cool effects, I have been looking for something like that for quite a while.

Did you edit your footage with final cut or adobe premiere, is it the slow motion a plug-in within the program, or you jsut tape that in 300fps and then just aplly a speed reduction in the editing program?

  • The files that the camera produces automatically play back at 1/10 speed. If you want them to play in real-time, you have to speed them up 10x. So I use video editing software to do that. I used Sony Vegas Pro to edit this video.

  • I like your balls =)

  • nice one...

  • @laurap90 That's what she said! :D

  • if you still can't crack mill's mess even after this tutorial then go to my channel and look under my channel comments. i give a good tip that might help...

  • if you can't figure out mill's mess i have a tip on my chanell [under comments] that might help

  • Really good tutorial thanks man! Slow motion really helps and the way you learned it is the best way I've seen. Voted for your video it was awesome. Keep up the good work.
