  • i love red fishing <3

  • nice! this is no longer fishing, It's catching!

  • i might go there this summer, cant wait to hopefully go. when do u think the best time to go is, ive heard in july.

  • man would I love to try that but its a long way from Virginia, what kind of rod reel combo is popular up there?

  • where on the river was this taken? looks like the upper

  • i knew he'd lose that first fish, when u jackpull like that you'll lose it every time....

  • hOW FAR IS THAT FROM hOMER? i HAVE A BUDDY THAT OWNES A RESTURAUNT IN HOMER... I want to go there so bad....l;)

  • @hillinsan its only an hour to an hour and a half from homer.

  • About august 15th

  • @AkChamp130 Thats late i go in july and i get them when the limit is 6 last year we got 30 fish a day but thats still good time to go i guess

  • @landea46 what you dont understand is there is 2 different runs of red salmon that come through this river. The quarts creek and russian river reds and then there is the actual kenai river reds. Kenai river reds are much bigger fish and come a lot later in the season.

  • @AkChamp130 ya i no one time we went in august to and there were fish but only in certain areas they were really big and easy to catch

  • @landea46 its a little dsifferent every year anyways... august is prime though

  • Well how long the drift depends on how far out your fishing and how fast or slow the current is moving. I just quarter cast upstream and make sure im ticking the bottom every second. When I feel some tension or a rubber band feeling I try to stick that hook through their head so I dont lost them. This day there was so many fish it was hard not to snag sometimes.

  • @AkChamp130

When did you fish for the red salmon?

  • So do you just do a three second drift and wait until you feel tension on the line and then set the hook?

  • Yes. It is a fly fishing only area. Common used geat is a spinning/baitcasting rod with a fly because of the current. I fly fish a lot as well

  • were you just flipping a fly and a weight?

  • The 2 that were snagged were in the dorsal fin. The other 2 were in the mouth

  • Mouth or tail?

  • Haha hey nick boss. Im going to upload your video here too.

  • Have to kiss em good bye everytime haha fun day of fishing
