Cute blog video Becka. Forsure people need to move when they are at the top of the escalator, I hate that soo much too when they stand there like zombies, hello people behind you move it or lose it cuz people coming up hehehehe
I really don't use escalators that much. But, It's always made me wonder - why do people walk up an already moving up staircase???
I figure, either you're in such a terrific rush that the extra 30 seconds wait to stand and get to the top would put you just WAY behind your already oh so busy day - OR you're just an over-achiever trying to out-do everyone around you and trying to look important doing so.
Anyway... just my 2-cents thrown in - personally, as you can tell, I find it rude as hell!

Moving sidewalks were put in airports b/c studies have shown that people would rather walk (and walk faster) than wait for a bus, even if it means it will take longer to get to their connection. People in cities like to do things fast :)
Thankfully, no - I live in a rural area. but, I go into the city often enough. The funny thing about all this is the, what I call; 'me first mentality'. Most people that do it try to pass everyone (cause who wants to be in the back of the line - even if there is no line) even if they really aren't going anywhere, inparticular, anyway... But, they certainly don't want to be behind you. LOL
It's kinda silly and annoyingly pathetic - but, whether on foot or in a vehicle - you see it all the time.
I think what is worse is when on those moving sidewalks, like the ones at the airport...many people tend to stop walking at the very end. Here I am, thinking wow I'm making great time on this moving side walk and BAM! If you don't have the coordination to disembark the moving sidewalk without slowing down or stopping all together, I say, do not get on in the first place.
lmao Becka you're funny. That's so true abotu the escalator. I think with living in the big cities people are in a damn hurry and we don't know why lmao. UM but I hate that the most is when the left side of the escalator is for the people who walk up it to get up it and I am one of those people and hate when 1. someone is standing to the left or 2. someone has a suitcase and puts it directly on the left. and 3. someone takes up the whole damn space! lol!
Escalator etiquette!!! LUV IT!!!!!!!!! I bet combined, we have both plowed through our share of stupid people on an escalator lmao
