@03056932 hmmm it really depends on what touch screen suits you. . . if you like an iphone like touchscreen (capacitive, multi touch) go for the N8. . . if you likee a resistive but sensitive touchscreen. . . i say N900 . . . well, another thing, if you choose N900 if you like landscape. . other says some apps in the N900 needs to have a portrait mode but i say, its no big deal. . . its just a matter of getting use to it. . . :P

There will be transitions and graphical effects. In some videos you can see those effects. So i think that they can be disabled (to increase battery life, for example).

The error is show the phone with those effects disabled, so the "fandroids" scream horrorized "OMG! No transition effects! F**k this s**t!"

@JanisonTV Yes I Had The 3GS When It First Came Out, It's OK But I Hated The Restrictions Like Being Forced To Do Through iTunes To Do Anything, Lack Of MultiTasking, Lack Of Storage (My Media Library Is Alot More Than 32GB) Etc.

I Got N900 In Feb And Gave The 3GS To My Dad. I Like The N900 Because It's Really Not For Everybody, You Need Some Brain Capacity To Use It, N900 Is Much More Functional By Comparison.

My N900 Was Buggish A Few Weeks Ago Before I Got The Update, Did You Get It?

The e...N..d Series should retire..The N8 just doesn't flow. the widgets and themes are crap. From someone who had a N95 8gb and N900.. Nokia maemo doesn't come close to my Nexus One. Loving the 720p video recording now. I will say the HDMI out(N8 is nice though) bu the EVO has that.

i ditched nokia, after buying the n95, n98 and n900 thinking they would change but its all the same..

bad quality and all their stuff broke even with me being careful. and when i tried to replace it with warranty it would take them a month just to receive it and another month for them to send it back.

and the last straw was when i had to return my n900 due to the face falling off, they told me a month so i waited and after a month they told me they lost it and they would just give me a refund

@nipperoid This is the OLDER firmware. The newer firmware HAS transitions between homescreens.

Widgets CAN be customized. You have to long-press the homescreen and you can manipulate the widgets on homescreen. you can also add more widgets by doing that and you can even download apps from ovi store directly from there and put it as a widget. Check out the RECENT videos of the N8, it looks REALLY great.

@nipperoid widgets that are not locked into place make up a very messy, disorganized and terrible user experience specially if you put many of them on the screen. Samsung has been doing this, I've used their phones and it is awful. I'd rather have widgets locked into place.

@NoobKillerSM Yeah I was thinking the same O_o One of the cheapest Samsung touch screen phone uses Symbian s60 3th edition just like the old Nokia 5800 but that Samsung have transition effects in menu, even when the phone doesn't have so much RAM like Nokia N8 ..or maybe that guy didn't just have effects turned on on his theme or something. At least in 5800 it's possible to turn off all effects

@tsaikamho520 Ever do a comparison on gsmarena? The iPhone is a better looking phone & has a better user interface, but the N8 can connect via UPnP, has that Xenon flash, FM radio, FM transmitter. The N8 has class 33 edge to iPhone's slower class 10. The N8 works on more 3G frequencies, plays DivX movies & takes a removable memory card which boosts memory to 46gb, compared to Apple's 32. Not to mention the N8's 3 desktops. I dunno. I'm feelin' the N8 big time.
