Holy Cow! If it wasn't for his voice I wouldn't have recognised the late, great, Mr. Woodward. I've only heard of Callan. So happy to finally view it. Thank you for uploading!
I've never seen this show properly, grew up in the eighties so only really remember Edward in the Equalizer. The similarities between Callan and McCall are startling though. McCall could be Callan years on. I'm definitely going to check out this show properly. And am I the only one who finds the theme tune quite creepy?
I've never heard of or seen this series before but that clip make me want to. Edward Woodwood even as a young man, as this scene proves, was brilliant.
Shows you the talent of the actors, writers and director that they can put together a masterpiece on such a limited budget. Another great drama from the Brits.
I had this box set given to me for a birthday present. It's superb. This series is what 'Bond' should have been, but never will be. Edward Woodward made this character his own, and the interaction between him/his Boss Hunter/Meres/Lonely are what makes the series. This is the dirty and lonely side of espionage; no glamour just death, deception and betrayal.

What a great series. Far too dark and smart for modern TV.

I grew up watching this: way ahead of its time, clearly the most accurate portrayal of real secret service and yes, Woodward was brilliant.
Thanks so much for posting this!

Thanks to NetworkDVD for reproducing these. Brilliant. This episode is the next one after the Armchair Theatre pilot.
