saw this show at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill , NC.....w/o a doubt the most moving and awesome opening for any show I've seen them do...18 times and counting now
Excellent video - thanks for posting 'RollTheFemers'... btw, why do you call yourself 'RollThe Femers'? Do you mean 'femurs', or is Femer a family name? Just asking out of curiosity... I am an Osteologist by trade. Thanks again for posting.
Rush kicks so much ass, this sometimes injures their feet. As a result, they often need to go to a podiatrist. He begs them to stop kicking ass, but they will not relent. They keep it up, leading to larger and larger podiatrist bills. The need for all of that money to pay the podiatrist makes them practice harder so they can play more shows. Playing more shows makes them better and better.
this is so awesome you posted these! this was my 1st concert ive ever been to when i was 7 years old and ive been a huge Rush fan ever since! ive seen every rush show in the Detroit area ever since. i had no idea there was any recordings of this show!?
@kjm0227 You're right. I don't know what I was thinking haha. But Rush is certainly not a blues rock band. Maybe in their really early days back in '73-'74, but certainly not now.
@kjm0227 The thing is, they've mad a whole different array of music, so you can't really pinpoint them! In the 70's, they were progressive rock. In the 80's, mostly electro rock or pop rock. In the 90's, they were hard rock.

These lyrics make less sense than burning water. The very first line: Hes got a road map of Jupiter, WTF!? But it doesn't matter, it's a great song anyway.
andytom, NP explained the lyrics in an interview on Rockline back in 90 or 91. I believe that first line was inspired by an episode of Nova. A picture book of the rivers under the Sahara refer to the fact that the Sahara Desert used to be a tropical rainforest. And so on and so on.
??Who are Gary and Lerxt?? Oh, and RollTheFemers the "actual" is - "Also, Sprach Zarathrustra" but your translation from German to English is correct- so props.
Is there a Rush song out there that has no significance or importance? No, each one kicks so much ass. Rush seems to be gaining even more popularity, which they deserve more than most bands. People were arguing over 'em on a Megadeth video lol. RUSH FOR LIFE, EH? TAKE OFF!

I can play this in bass. but I wish I had a band that would play rush songs and not AC/DC or some other crappy band like that
Dthorn912 2 years ago 3
@Dthorn912 AC/DC is not crappy band! It's just as amazing as Rush is!
TheRousku 1 year ago
@TheRousku No sorry to say AC/DC is terrible. It's like hearing the same song played over and over.
Dthorn912 1 year ago
@Dthorn912 But it happens to be a good song imo :)

@themongboy yeah you really can't call rush a "..." rock band. They're just "Rush." In any event, both bands make great music

It's called "Also sprach Zarsthustra" by Richard Strauss. It was composed way before Rick Flair was a male soap opera star.

well it's metaphorical. look closer at the lyrics, they make sense! the title describes it all.

Right, metaphors are clearly not your strong point...

Geddy's real name is Gary and Lerxst is Alex's nickname.
Bpags868 2 years ago
Correct. Geddy Lee's real full name is Gary Lee Weinrib. And Alex's true surname is Zivojinovic.
Furthermore, all three have nicknames that have been used ever since Hemispheres, I think.
Geddy = Dirk
Alex = Lerxst
Neil = Pratt
