Alot of comments, about how Ripcord is black ,who gives a shit as long as he plays the role well it doesn't really matter, they change shit all the time when they convert cartoons, books,and games to movies. They can't always get cast exactly to the T so they choose who they feel is best for the role. An example of this for me is I read I AM LEGEND b4 it came out, the main character is white w/ blue eyes,far from Will Smith I realized later, I would have hated the movie even if he'd been white.

You have to understand that casting and the producers had to make creative calls for the movie. Why judge the movie based on the comic/cartoon? Judge the movie for the movie itself.

We do judge the movie for itself, and it is crap compared to the comic books. The reason we complain about consistency is because the creative calls they made do not improve the story, they dumb it down, just like the cartoons did. The comics are considered canon, and changing the storyline is a downgrade. They messed with the Snake Eyes/Scarlett romance, which is one of the iconic pairings in comicdom, and tried to put her with Ripcord. That's a downgrade! You don't mess with perfection.

I thought it to be interesting how Scarlett takes an interest into the character Ripcord. Though Ripcord is known to be a caucasian, the twist was handled well by the Wayan actor. Well done! As I viewed the kiss scene between Scarlett and Ripcord, it was awesome hearing the silence/unspoken energy in the theatre. Shame though, movies push people's thoughts for change and not the other way around.
