@NHLArchive After vigorous testing with players on every level, we have found 1mm cloth provides no additional protection. Most stick failures, nowadays, is predominantly at the shaft. Composite blade technology has improved drastically over the last decade to increase performance and durability. Unfortunately, because of this, it makes the blade more lively and harder to handle - that's why we use BladeTape. We are more than happy to send you samples to make you a believer!
@BladeTapeCA well i have done the same test and when i put an extra piece of tape on the bottom it has saved my stick blades, if i am lazy and let the tape wear away and don't replace it then the bottom of the blade begins to wear fast. Unfortunately because i know the bottom of my stick would be harmed i don't think the samples would be worthwhile. I believe you that it probably gives you a decent grip of the puck , but there is no way you can change my mind about the blade bottom.
@NHLArchive Between you and me, most of those that has responded to us likes it! Except as a small, growing company, we can't afford to pay endorsement fees to actually say who they are =(
@NHLArchive We have a number of pros using it in the NHL and other Euro-Elite leagues. Admittedly, when we gave it to superstars such as some Detroit Red Wings, they simply commented "there's no difference!" Guess when you're that good, you can be playing with a plastic kiddy stick and still skate circles around regular Joes like us.
@BladeTapeCA You guys charge 8 dollars for a package of BladeTape when I can buy 2 rolls of tape for the same price. If I put BladeTape on for one game, it will be wrecked instantly for how I play. I can see that you guys are desperate for you product as for why you comment on a video like this. Why don't you guys go ask the majority of NHL players and see their response.
@iGumbyy We understand BladeTape is not for everyone. We just found a demand for people who were not used to the lively one-piece composites when we first came up with our product.
Because we use strong 3M backing tape, our tape is designed to last an entire season. Simply put, 2 BladeTapes at $16 for a whole season should be cheaper than rolls of tape, wax, and the time spent.
@BladeTapeCA i honestly dont believe it could work. ive tried single and double layered tape on my stick and theres still wear on the bottom, how can there be no wear if theres nothing there to protect it. it just makes no sense to me
@razor7074 With improving blade technology, you seldom see stick failure nowadays on the blade itself. I am confident in saying most stick failures happen at the shaft because of the way sticks are made nowadays. We play regularly at a high level and players on opposing teams show us their bottom edges and are doing just fine!
@Ph1llYflyersfan76 We just found a demand for people who were not used to the lively one-piece composites when we first came up with our product. We were all used to wooden sticks growing up so we wanted to create that feeling again. The rubber surface definitely makes us feel like we're using a wooden stick again the way it handles the puck.
That was some intense shit right there

Why spend so much effort on this when you can just use BladeTape?

@BladeTapeCA judging by what i saw in your youtube video if you are an amateur you would want to use regular tape to protect your blade.
