I love the music she chooses. And I love how she plays.Interesting thing, I cannot really judge her technical abilities, One is never aware that there is anything but music when she plays.I suspect she does not have equivalent digital competence to someone like Horowitz or Argerich when she plays, but that may simply be because I really cannot separate her technical prowess at all from her interpretations. So I always end up thinking, who cares? Just let me listen some more......very mesmeric.
@stevenpaulniles She may be making love to the camera, as you say. Or, maybe she is being loved by Mozart - sounds melodramatic, but some people are realy effected this strongly by art. I'm not highly educated in music, just love music, but she always sounds beautiful to me.
I sometimes disagree with Ms Grimaud's interpretations, about Bach, for example. But listening that one, I suddenly understood that the road from Mozart to Beethoven was obviously short. At that moment, the door towards Romanticism was about to open soon. Ms Grimaud has seized the moment.
This truly is Mozart at his most desperate, most dramatic, most "longing," as Helene puts it. It is rare, even in the music of later Romantic composers, to hear such drama, such romance, such beauty in music. Thanks, Mozart.
The first time I watched this, I felt full of joy after experiencing its beauty. The second time, I felt that it was ominously mysterious and I began questioning life. The third time, I felt afraid, slipping into its diaphanous and gaping mystery. The fourth, I started to cry and remembered my deceased grandmother. Thank you Hélène, for you make life beautiful and meaningful again.

Mozart was way ahead of his time, Hélène played it like Beethoven would: with so much emotion.

Affectedly slow. She's pretentious with her knowing nods and smug smirks. I wish Hélène would have gone into modeling or acting instead of piano.

@stevenpaulniles "I wish Hélène would have gone into modeling or acting instead of piano." :
.
this would make sense only, if her playing were deficient
but it's only lack-ing in speed
what is a gain
here

Every time I hear this I'm amazed. These collection of notes written in 1786 will be still be played long after we're all gone.

Very nice sound, very nice and soft playing. Still I imagine a purer, more "objective", almost impersonal interpretation of this movement.
