@Lobster915 Yes. With that hardware you can install Win7 using the normal installation procedure, so you don't need to use the method demonstrated in this video.
I managed to graft it onto my second partition on my hard drive and boot from it. But it gets stuck at the Windows boot logo sequence and then gave me a BSoD that said NO_PAGES_AVAILABLE (STOP: 0x0000004D) (with some other codes). Now I have no idea how to continue from here since the installation wouldn't continue from Safe Mode.
@nucleartactician That indicates you have run out of memory. Verify that you have fully executed the first stage of setup manually.
To all: this video was intended as a proof of concept, not a step by step guide. Adjust the approach to your own configuration and don't blindly copy the commands shown without understanding their intent and action. Also ensure you are using the correct versions of the required tools (bootsect, bcdboot...).
@wateenkick I only have 128MB (most likely slightly less) onboard so that is the most obvious reason. Which first step? The Windows setup after the first boot-up? If that's the case, I wasn't even able to reach that stage.
And yes, I understand that. I have tried something similar also using ImageX but not successful. The version of bootsect and bcdboot you have are the solution to my problems.
How can I make a winPE xp? I want to install it on a old laptop and the pc what i'm now using is win 7 and if I make a winpe it's the vista's one, and I can't boot it because it needs the vista's system requirements. Pleas help
Will it work well with:
192mb ram
Intel celeron 2.7ghz
