  • How frigging long will the damn jury be out on this life on mars crap?

  • @Zurround100 47.12 years

  • this is all bull crap! whats the point of looking at this stuff, wow big deal microbes live on other planets, now what???

  • If life came to be on 2 planets in the same solar system independently of one another, it suggests that life is not rare, rather inevitable, and is expected to be found any other place in the universe that has liquid water. This is HUGE

  • @Epslion3 It is fantastic!

  • lol how did God get into this? the documentery is about Mars =P

  • @justmom66 That's like saying "lol how did the Japanese get into this? the documentery is about Asimo =P" The Japs made the Asimo robot and God made Mars, so that's how God got into this.

  • @justmom66

Well... Mars is a god. And a candy bar too. Unique planet in out solar system.

  • Interesting.

  • why have my comments not come through?

  • 12/21/2012 we move to Mars!!

  • let's live on mars and eat salt then =P

  • 9/2/09

The spine chilling mystery of death.

  • no cockroaches would not if anything bacteria would bacteria does not need air roaches do and salt only preaerves life like if you drown a fly(till it dies)then cover it with salt it will come back to life and fly away.

  • no no salt can preserve life you know how in the ancient days they put salt on their food so it wont go bad ok if you drown a fly till it dies like 4 min then cover it with salt it will come back to life after like 6 min no lie try it

  • dude flys don't back to life cause you put salt on them... thats crazy

  • What's with the trumpet music?

  • we actually didn't get to see any "martian salt" at all!!

  • Comments are bad, don't read them

    ohshi~

  • this one is actually good,rare...

  • Well sabin15, Im not so sure if we are creating another mars. Scientist have evidence that global warming has happened before, we as humans are just speeding up the occurring process of earth heating up then cooling down into an ice age. Since it has happened before and we are here today, I am going to have to say everything will regrow after the ice age goes into affect from global warming. If it does not after the many times it did then....I guess your right....another mars > DX

  • there are already 6 million people (humans plus non humans) living on Mars and 300000 plus on the Moon

stop feeding us this misinformation in form of scientific info and start telling the real truth...please

  • bwahhahahaha XD 6 million people living on mars? xD how exactly einstein? oo oo and from where did u get this "truth" i wanna read and laugh my guts out =D pleasee tell.. xD.. 300 000 on them oon lol.. futarama much =P

  • Wheddya dreaming?

  • really? please provide evidence.

  • Are Martian salt the same as regular table salt we use in meals?

  • not eaven sea salt from earth is the same =p

  • there is NaCl in the ocean most of the salt in the ocean is table salt or NaCl

  • salt just means an ionic compund, not necesarrily table salt, NaCl

  • 09/02/09

  • You ever think that there might be a risk we're taking if we would encounter alien life. Like what if we encountered an alien microbe that may cause a lethal disease. I'm just saying we should take precautions if we ever encounter aliens.

  • Extraterrestrial encounters have already occurred.

their scientists, they take many precautions before doing there tasks..

  • Bah, doesnt matter.global warming is going to kill the planet anyways in about 200 years or so

Gratz to the human race for making another mars

  • Global warming wouldn't kill humans entirely, sure it would probably kill a lot of us, but then again when you come to think of it... it's impossible to entirely exterminate humanity. And it would be foolish to think that it'd be a possibility. However nothing can kill the planet, Sabin. It can kill a lot of life, yes, but never the planet. Also cockroaches (not sure if my spelling's alright) would survive the longest of all the species.

  • this is the only show i watch on pbs

  • What's the lady from Daily Planet doing on PBS? Has she defected? She was always too cute for Canadian TV, anyway.

  • Wizard Martian Salt sucks.

  • dont know how they came to the asumption that its martian salt, when it comes from earth:S

  • I don't know what they're talking, but she's very sexy.

  • Well, perhaps thats why healers use crystals .. :P Cool tho...

  • rofl wtf are u talking about?

  • lol "paper trail" good one

  • mmmmmmmhhh

  • I believe in no beginning or end to what we (presently) think of as the 'Universe'. Just goes on and on forever space and time. We are surrounded by 2 things mostly in the cosmos..hydrogen and ignorance (;

  • WHAAAT?????

  • wtf lmao

  • I was brought up on Spiderman and Green Lantern comics etc ... as such I have looked inward to try and discover my own beginnings. After all those elements of which I am made have existed since the beginning ... my search tells me the "universe" is a big place and that the big bang is/was a "galatic" event while our solar system is a very small part of our galaxy albeit very important to us ....

  • Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Nova Science Now are totally awesome!

  • All of you girls/guys should try to post your educated and unique opinions without any anger or judgement of others. It would add more credibility and respect in recognizing your good insights into the topic up for discussion. Give respect to perspectives that would challenge your beliefs after all none of us have all the answers.

  • 0:50 this is a part of a movie. whats the name of the movie? :(

  • close encounter of the third kind

  • Close encounters of the third kind.

  • Finaly some1 understood what this video is all bout. Geez pp get some education .(And no I'm not being sarcastic)

  • space is sexy

  • Hmm Salt

    Wonder how Mars tastes like.

  • I got kicked out of the book store for putting all the bibles in the fiction section...FML

  • hi

if you just only research it from Quran

    you will find every thing

then it will very useful for you

    from this Holy Book Quran

you will find what ever you need

  • Below is ALL very well but doest explain why the clip finishes with the cheesy trumpet solo. It sounds like something from LOVE BOAT!!!!

  • "mmmmmmhhhhhhh its tastyyy" lofl

  • Matter collided and formed everything. It was all by chance, thats why its taken so long for it to become what it is now.

  • well it would be unimaginable if you say "incomprehembably"

  • hahahaha......

He made TONS of spelling and grammatical errors in his post.

  • "Paper trail."

I see what he did there.

  • that noodle thinks shes white

  • The Universe is inimaginable, by the human brain it is incomprehembably so vast, to say that we are the only life in the universe it truely is ludacris. There must be at 100 worlds with living creatures like our. Because the planet simply has to the same distance from the sun as our earth. any farther or closer would make the planet to hot or too cold, making the planet inhabitable. So if u thik about theres no question, there must be Life other than ours in this supremly vast universe!!!

  • I find that summation has a possibility of being highly accurate. The Universe is so vast, there's no way Earth is the only planet with organisms living upon it! And if it somehow is true, that is quite "a waste of space" if you ask me...

  • The universe has less then 5% of the required elements to create another planet with life. We are alone. Another interesting thing is, the bible is being proven right everyday from here on out. Obama is pushing a one world government.

The world is only 6,000 - 6,500 years old.

  • ok mr genius... explain the dinosaurs then?

God i hate religion and i hate people who believes in the crap even more.

  • Let people believe in what they want, man... Can't you just imagine, people are not thinking as you do? then you'll talk about evolution... just make your mind evolve a little bit and try ta show some more tolerence, please!

  • The dinosaurs can easily be explained.

There is tons of geological evidence all around the Earth for a world wide flood. This is most likely what killed them. In order for any organic material to be preserved for a long time (they have found food in the stomach of dinosaurs), it has to be buried quickly. A flood would have done this.

  • ... A flood would have done this.

And A flood must be THE flood right? What other kind of flood is there besides magic world-wide floods that leave no evidence any honest geologist can find?

  • Thats a very lame debunking strategy you've got there. Your comment is no different than the ignorant Christian splurting out "Oh yeah? well if we evolved from monkey's why do they still exist?"

  • balvear, I pity you. Do you believe the earth is flat? Because I think the bible says it is...

  • where the heck does it say that?!?!?

  • Troll.

    Also, a bad troll.

Whom clearly has no knowledge of Chemistry or Microbiology, but rather is being blinded by archaic traditions and religion.

I don't know which redneck state you're living in, be it Kansas or Alabama, but the Atheist population is growing larger than the Christian population because more and more are seeing the facts and truth in S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

  • kkkk. I got a question for you. Say that there was a big bang. Or whatever you call it. What was before it? What was before the number 1? There was a zero called eternity right? If you can tell me how the big bang created itself or whatever the heck it is. I'd be impressed. Cause no science can ever find out about what was behind the number one factor that created it all. And how do you suggest that the people, thousands of years ago wrote in the bible "God created something from nothing." huh?

  • "there was a zero called eternity right?"

Well if you say so then it must be! Tell me... how did you learn this? This is amazing! HEY EVERYONE!!! this guy knows what happened before the big bang!

  • do u know what eternity means? synonym forever. There was forever before 1? and the bible...ehh....the bible is a way to explain things topeople that didnt have the technology and philosophy we do now, of course its easy to say someone created something from nothing, because they needed an exxplanation, and they half assed it

  • A phase transition caused a cosmic inflation, during which the universe grew exponentially.

Why did god make the people who where building babyalon, diffrent race and speak diffrent languages? Even if the tower got into space they would die. So, it was pointless.

  • I think the principle lesson there is to curb our arrogance. The question is why intefere with building a primitive tower but not with sending rockets into space or manipulating genes?

  • Hey bro, I am not picking a fight or anything but personally I have taken 10 college level biology and chemistry courses mostly taught by atheists. I have still kept my faith due to two simple reasons. 1) I have never seen or read about nothing creating something. 2) I have only seen something create something. Until the day I see something created from nothing I will keep my faith.

  • So what created god?

  • The human imagination.

  • In order for something to create something the law of conservation of energy would be violated, If a cause was behind our universe and was able to create energy then you would have to provide evidence of such, which there is not. In fact the conservation laws go against such a creation. And even if you did not need to violate the laws, the origin of that cause would remain unanswered. The only thing that you know is that you don't know where the universe came from making your faith an assumption

  • "The world is only 6,000 - 6,500 years old. "

Please explain age rings on ancient coral fossils.

Why are there no higher mammals, fresh water fish or amphibians on oceanic islands?

Explain glacial markings on rocks coming out of the ocean without continental drift.

Why do we never find rabbit bones with dino bones? Even any completely mineralized fossils of modern animals?? Why do you NEVER crack open a rock and find a dog skull?

  • the universe is prob teeming with life... but no point looking..... feed the hungry first... get this world right first...

  • yea. with what??? theres nothing you can't do about it but only yourself. people don't give a damn if others are hunger or poor.

  • I wouldnt live on mars even if it did have life, it wouldnt be the same life as we have on earth.

Anyone who does live life on earth will miss the blue sky, and the birds, and the fun days we spend at big malls.

    I love earth. :)

  • ........................................................... ok bout this mars thingy, i believe theres no life forms there, coz salt is alife? yah right.. ok so what if theres a plant there, from ur camera, theres not life forms in mars!! mars is dead.. the only alife planet in our galaxy milky way is earth! none of other.. idk bout other galaxies..

  • i think that its totally possible that there were other civilizations living in our solar system but something probably wiped them all out.. im sure theres other life out there tho..cuz i mean we're just a little itty bitty tiny grain of sand in the sahara desert

  • Bacteria is also a life form and we have those falling on Earth with space debris all the time. This video just told you that.

  • Where exactly? Thx.

  • That is not true. Elements that are necessary for life do, but thee is no proof of life (yet) outside of Earth.

  • and if there is life outside earth, ...THEN WHAT!!!???

    yeah.. people will stay shut.

  • what about the (fossilized) bacteria in astroids and in rocks found on mars?

  • bacteria in astroids? i never heared that...

  • fossilized bacteria in astroids? never heard about..

  • it's already hard to find them on earth... We are talking about Mars mate.

  • THE BIBLE rofl lol WHAT A JOKE THAT BOOKS IS

  • I would most agree except with one small detail..there are scriptures that talk about ufo's..which i find somewhat intriguing.. "a chariot of fire in the sky" now, if the only mode of transportation you knew of was such, isn't that what you would use to decscribe seeing a UFO? kinda neat i guess..

  • i also agree but the "chariots of fire" could just refer to shooting stars....small asteroids, they seem more likely. i think it's possible that life is out there somewhere but the whole UFO thing is just hollywood. the same way that people ended up believing in the bible is the same sort of process that has led people to believe in UFO's....it's just something someone made up one day (i'm not having a go or saying you're a "believer" sorry haha :)

  • Why spend money going to Mars to see if life is present? The Bible says there is none. The money we waste learning about our universe could be used to kill innocent brown children far, far away.

  • such an ironic name such as blamerepublicans and yet believe in the bible?

  • I can tell that you are joking :)

  • none of it matters

the worlds gone in 2012 :]

  • hey no entiendo de que se trata el video pueden explicarlo porfa seve bien

  • Yes...Mars, the Mother Planet.

  • Let's just hope they don't have sugar. No one wants to make first contact with a jittery martian child.

  • hahaha point well made.

  • Haha lol!

  • Some people already have seen little green men and grey ones too! o.O

  • nice job!

    5 stars from TheJapanChannel !

Check out our channel too if you have time!

  • uuggg, this is pathetic, hua, salt...

  • "OOOooooweeeeee! What the hell you put on this? It's tasty as hell!! Is,.... is that Mars I taste?!?!?!

  • Cellulose??? Doesn`t cellulose come from trees? Never heard of cellulose in salt before. This has to be history! Lol!!! What a jerk.....

  • trees fall.. salty water evaporates and pieces of trees are trapped in the salt.

  • cellulose is an organic nutrient that cannot be divided into smaller nutrients because of the lack of cellulose enzyme in the human body

  • Cellulose is an organic compound with the formula (C6H10O5)n.

Cellulose is the structural component of the primary cell wall of green plants, many forms of algae and the oomycetes. Cellulose is the most common organic compound on Earth. About 33 percent of all plant matter is cellulose. (courtesy Wikipedia)

Don't insult what you don't understand.

  • Cellulose is plantlife stuff, not only trees..

The clue here is fragments of cellulose found in old salt deposits, yes, deposits.

The salt acts as the medium in which fragments can be found.

  • Cellulose is a primary constituent of plant cell walls and ends up getting everywhere.

  • He is saying that salt may preserve Cellulose. If they find cellulose, which is may from starch in plants. Any evidence of cellulose, theyre saying is evidence to life on mars in the past, millions of years ago or even billions.

  • made*

  • There r YETI FOOTPRINTS on Mars !

  • LOL. Exactly. It would replace Saffron, for decades the world's most expensive spice by weight.

I caught a UFO on video!! Don't be jealous just click my name to watch it.

  • And if nothing else, we can salt our food with exotic salts from a very costly furrow.

  • uh its midnight and im too tired to comment right now and i know what u guys are sayin " hey u jsut did " but yeah im talking about real knowledgeable comments

  • I have to give you thumbs up for thattttt

  • Nice video

  • I love anything having to do with MARS!

  • en español mk

  • viva colombia y su cafe

  • nah sus mujeres

  • I really don't care if mars had life, who cares, if it doesn't have life anymore. Im more interested In Europa.

  • research the new world order

  • Nice video, was intressting. Dident know any of that stuff.

    Video: 8/10(No HQ/HD).

    Sound: 10/10.

    Rank: 5/5.

  • Hope they gonna find some alien virus that will turn 99% of earth population into zombies, that would be so cool

  • Fun life for the survivors then...

  • yeah and you would be one of the 99%.

I mean yeah in most of the Z movies you just watch survivors that beat up zombies, but what if you never make it to the 1%? still coo?

  • Hell yea!! BRAINS BRAAAAAINS!!!!!! ownage

  • I feel really nerdy for laughing at the paper pun

  • lol, yeah, I thought I was the only one that caught that.

  • Great Science and great Nova...What have been explored so far is very little and there are still more things to come...

  • They had to edit the film to only show her head because you can see through her clothes.

  • I think that there is nothing wrong with religion. I always grew up believing that science and religion go hand in hand. The science is the how and the religion is the why. Either way, life on other planets is fascinating.

  • and I don't have a TV. It's internet or nada.

  • Why don't you put Nova to be viewed online? I really like it.

  • I really enjoy Nova Science and I'm sure they will find evidence of life out there.

I don't know what to think here, knowing if the Bactria or whatever might still be alive, eating that salt off the walls would not be one of the things I would wanna put in my mouth like the host did at the end. I'm surprised they kept that in?!

Surly I'm not the only one wondering why she would do that?! Or maybe I am...roflmfao

  • Zechari Sitchen has some awesome books about this .There is nothing new under the sun Sitchen went to Iraq and gave Troops History Cards to teach and show the Troops Read Sitchen WIll blow U away There is life and it will return End of Days

  • I soo wish we would find evidence of life once being on mars, or life in the oceans of Europa. It MIGHT shut creationists up.

    Fascinating video, thanks for posting.

  • Rofl! I wish! But then they'd say god created them too ;)

  • yeah but wouldn't it be great to watch them stumble over trying to explain it in biblical terms, or better yet start screaming conspiracy or something. The back-pedaling alone would be just awesome.

  • That would be hilarious! Somehow some still believe the world is 10,000 years old, I'm sure most of them wouldn't accept the evidence if it is found. Rofl! Now I hope they do find the evidence of life there : )

  • Nothing will shut them up! Even if we travel in time like 1 million years or so, they would still find some lame excuse to read their book in a literal manner.

  • you're sadly probably right. They'll find some verse that they will interpret as predicting life on other worlds or some such nonsense, not even considering they will later quote some verse that alludes to a flat earth or...a young earth. Still, it would seat them further out in the lunatic fringe.

  • I got a question for yah bud. And if you can answer this, i'd be impressed. Say there was a big bang or whatever you want to say it. For all i know, the universe could have been made by an exploding fish. Big bang can be the number factor that created everything yes? And what was before it? Can nothing make something out of nowhere? No. Before number 1, there was 0. Eternity. Don't give me stupid messages kid. If you have anything to say to oppose this, give me a good one or don't bother at all.

  • The only people claiming something came from nothing are creationists.

The big bang is the starting point of this universe. It says nothing about what was before it. To assume there was nothing before is just that... an assumption... and a poor one IMO.

The big bang was an event where energy turned into matter forming the universe. It could have happened billions of times before and billions of times simultaneously elsewhere.

  • You really are stupid aren't you?

0 makes its way to 1 eventually on its own.

"Zero becomes one, one becomes ten, ten becomes one-hundred."

Your "God" is as much of a theory as The Big Bang... just oppositely lucid of a theory at that.

So don't say that something that made sense thousands of years ago still applies to todays world.

  • This guy does have a point but i still believe in the big bang but there has to have been something to start this all and the truth is we will never know

  • Savior, you have a very weak understanding of cosmology. The big bang was an EVENT, it was not the 'beginning' , it was a rapid expansion of the universe into what we see now. What was before the big bang - to answer that would be a great deal of speculation.

  • well before the big bang there were beams of particles that collided with each other at such a force that new particles were created, particles that could bind with others to create what we see as planets. It wasnt a short time, and when the big bang happened planets didnt come out of nowhere like people believe. And please dont give openended questions like what was there before th big bang. if you vbelieve god created everything, what created god? same thing

  • yes! :D

  • A tiny particle, smaller then the smallest part of an atom. EXPLODED! and that's how you get the universe. :)

  • Hmm that must have been the good universe.i think the creation of our universe was brought about by the explosive gas of an alien eating a taco

  • Nothing is smaller than quark,at least nothing known to us.

And that theory is pretty lame,i mean its based on some logical conclusions, but that's it.

Actually the theory is pissing me off. Exploded? i believe one smallest particle is based on one element, and how can one element alone explode? there might be something in that theory, but i think its just a cheap assumption.

"Particle of life" is bullshit if we don't know what it actually is,where did it come from, who created it?

  • if your talking about the bing bang then you need to learn more and read more about theories math's einstein and steven hawkings and singularaties (i probobly didnt spell it correct =p ) its not some dumb explotion as u think it is like dynamite with none reactive particles.. the wrod explotion comes to mind from bang and the theory says bang just becous it suddenly apeard from a singularity point in spacetime.and read about how eaven the empty space is unstable, eaven "nothing" is unstable ;)
