Fantastic guitar skills mate, I got a Les Paul today as my first electric guitar. Can you offer me any advice on how to play the guitar as well as yourself? I'm 21
@DaddyToke Thanks. I appreciate your comments. Advice? Two things: [1] Make use of your time away from your guitar. Sing chords aloud. 1-3-5-8, 1-3-5-7, 1-3-5-7b, 1-3b-5-7b, 1-3-5-7b-9, etc. The idea is to etch the sound of chords onto your brain. [2] Learn intervals. I.e., If Bb, for instance, is the root, where are all reachable 3s? 5s? 7s? etc. You don't care that the 5th is F; all you're concerned with is its relationship to Bb. You can then play any chord you "hear". Good luck. Bob
@FriPilot Thanks, Jon. I appreciate your vote of confidence. Hopefully, in a couple of months or so, I should have a very unique super-duper customized guitar. Once I get settled in with it I plan to post some more, hopefully interesting, stuff.
Very melodic improve. You outline the harmony nicely. I like the comping supporting the piano. It takes a world class player to not box the piano in. Bravo Maestro.
@carvetop01 Thanks, Allen. Coming from a player such as yourself, that's a very generous compliment. I would suggest to anyone else reading this that they click on your link to visit some really fine guitar work. That's exactly where I'm heading as soon as I get out of this box. All the best, Bob.
I had to take BART to Walnut Creek yesterday and I had some of music on my iPod and it made the time pass really fast. Your music and technique is so enjoyable.
Bob, how is it coming with your new guitar?....when will we see it along with more of your fantastic playing?
