  • I would like to thank the unimaginative Soviet videographer who shot this concert. Being able to study Oistrakh's bowing choices is such a gift. Thank you, USSR, and the key of F minor.

  • perfect

  • This is one of my favorite pieces.

    Superb performance.

    A masterpiece.

Thanks for posting this important video.

  • fantastic xxx thankyou

  • fantastic xxxthankyou

  • @win081 Did Argerich and Kremer play Sonata No. 1? I found the second Sonata on YT. If they played the other one, I'd love to be able to hear their rendition.

  • @pianofan24 Yes, on 1991 Deutsche Grammphon audio recording.

  • A miracle that the film recordings still exist. I remember getting the lp when I was fifteen, and the total shock to realize that music could go so far beyond the romantic tradition that I knew. The sheer pain of the violin and the sinister continuum of the piano in the back, the apparent lack of dialogue except where they mourn together as of 3:12, and in their reconciliation as of 5:00. Prokofiev said the violin is the wind blowing on the graveyard. Very impressive composition.

  • лучшее исполнение!

  • bolshoi spasibo

  • Powerful

  • I have the Lp of the other sonatas -this one is not present.

But I did not know it was filmed!!

    Amazing!!

  • Thank you very much for this video. Do you know if Oistrakh and Richter ever played the sonata Op. 94?

  • @eleirbag89 yes , but richter recorded only the flute sonata ( the original op.94)
