  • Poor tranny. Nice build. Easy to work on and very reliable, well unless u bolt a turbo on it :)

  • Grand Pri's run at 180°F and Max at 210

  • ahhhhhh D: it wasnt even warmed up yet..

  • only 49 thousand on it . your lucky

  • The only good sounding 3800 on the planet has a turbo strapped to it :-D Nice vid Dave.

  • Thats fuckin sick!

  • Ok for starters these sucked SCed. they had no lubrication system. Second they are using the dinosaur extinct pushrod design. They have the worst lower intake manifold gaskets ever. and its a fucking boat and you have to pump 19 psi just to get it to do that. ON THE OTHER HAND. not a bad run money was well invested.

  • To the faggot who hates Grand Pri's go fuck yourself bet a Honda could burn your shit!!!

  • so this car came stock with a roots supercharger ?? did you get the hahns race craft kit ?? this is nice,,,,,,,,,,

  • This car is awesome. Who would come on and comment about traction?...I'd sacrifice traction for a chirp at 40 mph any day.

  • Dude what's your problem? I demodded and sold this carr 2 years ago. You don't have to post crap like this, I mean really. This was on my street tires. When I went to the track I ran slicks and certainly didn't have this problem. Go have a beer lol.

  • @DavezGTP Did you get the 3.29's out of a GT? If so, how did you find them?

  • WOW congrats....you have no traction......you do know that makes you....ummmm wats the word im looking for, faster....no SLOWER

  • @prosurfer2222 youre a tool

  • LOL gotta love front wheel drive

  • uhhhh not to burst ur bubble dude, but u didnt hit 70 that was ur speedo just tryin to cztch up or slow down to where u were cuz u were spinning ur tires. believe me i know i have a 1974 AMC AMX i do that shit all the time. but that is pretty fuckin badass that u spun at a 40 roll all the way up. props.

  • awesome GTP. Should i turbo or SC my 06GP? I want to hit the high 500horsepower range while it being affordable

  • @The1FastGP Turbo if you want loads of power but s/c whine is addictive!

  • @RegorHtimsgtp I was told by setting it to 17psi that i can reach a high 400-500hp power level. I want a Eaton GenV M90, maybe twin superchargers?

  • Pretty badazz for automatic! & why didn't it shift?

  • I did, grand prix's in D shift right away when there is a lot of power on the tranny. That's why the stock trannies hold up so well : )

  • soooo sick

  • 3.29's.......

  • what kind of gearing did you have?

  • Nice man!

  • Aw that sucks I blew mine too. I have a replacement just waiting till spring to put it in. What is the stock air fuel ratio?

  • Well with a stock pcm, at wide open throttle should be in the 925-930 mv range narrowband, not sure what that would be on the wideband but I'm sure somewhere in the 12's.

  • Does the meth injection realy help on gtp's? I was told it doesn't.

  • It can help especially on turbo gtp's but only if you can get it tuned. When I shot this video my wideband air/fuel was a pig rich 10.0:1. I was working on getting it leaned out, but I blew the transmission in the car before I could get it leaned out enough lol.

  • that was scary.

  • nice dude, sounds good! now ya mention turbo gtp, is your car twin charged turbo AND supercharger or was the supercharger removed and turbo in place??

  • Thanks man. I sure do miss this car. I demodded it a year and a half ago and sold it. To answer your question, this car was NOT twin charged. I removed the supercharger and installed a turbo kit.

  • duuude. i gotta 99 grand prix gt and i wanna turbo it. Just dont know how. Any way you could tell me? -Thanks

  • cartuning has turbo kits made specifically for the grand prix's engine and its done by year. they come highly recommended and i am getting one for my 04 grand prix gt in a year... gotta save for it

  • hey do you know where i can get some at i need two turbo kits?????for my 2005 grand prix gt and my 2003 bonnvllie

  • i believe the 2003 bonneville had the same engine as the grand prix that year which is the L36 and thats where you would find that turbo from cartuning at and then the 2005 grand prix has the L26 which cartuning also has a turbo made specifically for that engine. the turbos are rated for 700hp and its a bolt on application and they have extras like powdercoating the downpipe, methanol injection and an electric cutout exhaust on the downpipe. their kits eliminate the u bend as well.

  • you need to do a top sawp of the L67 motor to your motor hit me bac 4 more info

  • whats that mean? sorry i know what an L67 is but how do i top swap it?

  • An l67 is the supercharged version, hes telling you to do a top swap which is switching out heads. You really don't have to, but the l67 heads are lower compression and a bit safer when boosting your motor.

  • @DavezGTP y not just run more boost on the supercharger

  • nice chirping! thats respectable, i dont care who u are.

  • lol just cuz your spinning your bald tires on a wet surface

  • Wrong there Coaches. The tires were literally 5 month-old BF Goodrich Traction T/A's and the pavement was as dry as dry gets lol. Why bash? Has your mama never told you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

  • she did tell me but i just thought it would be funny lol

  • hey you think you can throw me a good parts list for my 05grand prix gt

  • yeah sell it

  • Your GTP is amazing keep up the good work!

  • you mean

    "ahhh Honda's haha they're good for a ...."

This is America we speak and write English.

  • lmfao, yes, because you of course practice this yourself? with words like "beet, dat. maid and rite" it's a fuckin wonder you aren't a college english professor

  • my 1990 civic is faster

  • yea the only way is if it 400hp.

  • no 500hp

  • dude if u got a 500 hp civic post a vid one with that much power is sick! i asume turbo right? how much boost? i always had a thing for a turbo civic.

  • no way its faster

  • you wish, and even if ur civic was faster, c'mon u probably hae one seat and ur car weights ony 900lb ha!... this is a sedan, with great inside space, not like ur pussy civic... get a man car

  • no i got bed in back for all da wemon fuckin in da back da bitchez like fast cars not cheep american shit made cheap and shit plastic dash is shitty hope you enjoy braking down all da time while i drive my vtec rite by.

  • at least my car is maid rite. american shitcans not even get down da road.

  • so japs cars doesnt have shit plastic dash? they have the worst! ... I can bet that I can beat ur ass in my 2006 ranger which is realy slow... cause my 96 LT1 formula with minor mods will rape ur ass, even with my girlfriends 04maxima c'mon its a civic they're not SPORTY, they're just GAS SAVER... get a man car [for the second time]

  • no jap cars doesnt have plastic dash. your rangier fall apart at 50 you aint got lt1 and if you did i beet it with my mugen maximas gay car get spell book

  • are you sure I dont have an lt1? check my vids, i even have one doing 100mph in the ranger, so 50 fall apart? i dont think so, can ur civic top to 75mph? is in it mugen for hondas? and last but not least... can u fucking spell correctly? I bet u dont have a girlfriend

  • is in it mugen for hondas?

    whats dat mean?

  • that mugen just tune hondas... so there's no such thing as a mugen maxima... like u said u have ...

  • yea and honestly, i dont even understand why people think civics are the sporty hondas - even with a turbo and all your bolt ons, civics are shitboxes (well, they are anyway)compared to accords! newer stock accords put out around 260! even my 98 v6 gives me a respectable 200. by the way, i dont race my honda haha. gotta go american for power.

  • vtec kickin in yo!!!!!!!!!! tell me man, explain how vtec works, and what color is it? i got a purple vtec myself, its the monkeys balls for shizzle

  • vtec is a variable valve system. at a certain rpm the high lift cams are introduced increasing the duration that the valves allow air/fuel in. you essentially get two cam profiles. low lift for bottom end grunt and high lift for top end power

  • and what color is it?

  • civics straight suck ass crack and ball sack. any grand prix will own ur lil 50 bunny power civic. hahahaha

  • lmao

  • He can't...he has a funda mentality!! Civics are for people who can't afford something with power lol

  • @waldir yeah some shithead thought he could race my stock GTP in his little SHITvic. He kept up good until I pressed on the throttle...

  • these cars are hunks of shit. Ugly as sin, pushrod v6! You guys are morons. A real domestic is v8 rwd.

    More like OLD MAN CAR!

  • Oh my god. He's lying people.

  • Do the gtps spin both front tires or only one?

  • They don't have LSD or anything, but they usually spin both from a stop or low speed roll but im not sure about here.

  • this gtp IS on lsd(ACID) but yes they do have limited slip dif. its spinning both

  • My Grand Prix would SMOKE this thing....

  • Holy Shit.

That must be a good feeling.

  • did you do seventy in first gear?

  • I think it actually shifted into second at 25mph.

  • no he didn't look at the rpm.

  • grand prix are automatic

  • Yes, and automatic transmissions shift gears too. =P The automatic transmission shifted into second at 25 mph.

  • PS. I would know they're automatics, I own one. =P

  • damn right bro...hopefully have my gtp in that category one day

  • have already dealt with zzp, thats where i bought most of my stuff from, they only want to sell u their kit. thnks though

  • gonna pull l67 outta my 96 monte, put into crapiler, want to turbo it, you know where i can get info, on turbo size for application, etc, not new to cars at all, but want it right if imma do it. gonna rebuild motor to stock, go through it, arp the whole thing, cam, blah blah, i am going after the setup more than hp, so imma run the s/c with a turbo, and ligit site/ info would help, thanks. nice ride btw!

  • Go to zzperformance and they will help you out. Check out their turbo kits, and e-mail Matt M. or Zooomer. Clubgp is also a good website for information, go the the forum and then the turbo section, and post up!

  • I got the turbo kit from cartuning dot ca.

Also, you're mistaken if you only thing the 3.8 can handle 18 psi of boost....lol. It can handle much more. You might be thinking that's about the limit using stock GM head gaskets and bolts, which is probably pretty accurate especially if you are running a lot of timing advance. But I'm running MLS 4-layer steel head gaskets and ARP head studs and bolts. So I'm good for probably a good 22 psi before getting a little skittish.

  • ok 1. where did u get the turbo that adapts to the engine, and how much

2...you know the 3.8 stock can only handle 18 psi right?

  • Wow, that was a very stupid comment....that supporting modifications and tuning don't matter. Wow.....lol.

  • My god, You Tube people must be new to the internet. Thats called sarcasm, I suggest you look around elsewhere on the internet before posting anything further.

  • Oh, lol. I thought you were replying to me not the other guy. By the way, sarcasm is best communicated online by using :-p

  • Hehe.

Sorry, I thought that one was pretty obvious.

In any event the L67 is one bad arse block. As low tech and crappy as the 3.8 SII and III are. Honestly GM should really just either design 3 valve pushrod heads, or go with a 4 Valve OHC scenario with the same exact bottom end.

That would be an awesome motor.

  • Yea the L67 is a very good block. It amazes me that the fastest Grand Prix in the U.S. (9.01 at 152 mph) even runs a stock block (stock pistons and rods)! Too bad they finally discontinued the SC'd 3800 motor (last of the breed was the L32). I guess it was time, but it's just such a great motor to throw boost at! :)

  • Why? Part of the fun of boosting ohv motors is being able to R&R your heads in an hour, the cam timing stays set.

  • Eh... No.

Plus I don't much like 180 CFM on the intake side. Especially if you fall on the exhaust ports with something abrasive you can make the tiny exhaust port flow more!
