I think we put enough pressure on kids. When I was 15, I had a worker's permit because I needed a job. Coming from a single mother family, I needed to do my share. It was hard enough keeping a job and keeping up with school, now they want to force volunteering down their throats? Volunteering is volunteering and there is no such thing as mandatory volunteering. Volunteering is freedom of choice and you can inform people of the many ways they can take part in their country, but you don't have to make it mandatory or pass a bill in Congress to do it. I spent some time in my youth volunteering at a hospital without getting paid and it was spiritually rewarding. FYI, we are all allowed to voice our opinions and bring up varying points of view regardless of party affiliation
