  • It would be awesome to build an Android Application of my own.

  • These Bose headphones really help bring out the high-mids in the white noise fuzzing up that audio.

  • And about the video quality, according to wikipedia, HD was released in November 2008. This video was posted in June.

  • To all of those complaining about volume... you are supposed to watch using Linux, where volume can go up to 150% :P

And I noticed that the maximum volume in windows 7 is about 60% in Linux.

  • normalizing the audio would have been nice... come on google.

  • seriously, google, yer quality control is a joke.

  • Classic MAC fail - So much for them being stable, fast, and quick.

  • great quality!

  • He gets back to actually talking about important stuff at 19:46. He does talk about a few things, but nothing to do with android code. EVERYBODY LIKE THIS COMMENT!!!

  • Google should look at it. Important video but worst sound....

  • "I'm sure they'll edit this out" :D

  • how hard is it to lift the mic just an inch or two higher.. smh

  • I can't believe they delayed lunch. That's crazy, lunch is always more important. That's why the laptop bugged out, bad karma.

  • ammm, I think this guy say too much times Ammm.... ammmm ok ok ammm. I had to go. ammm bye

  • Why are GOOGLE THEMSELVES, posting videos @ anything LESS than 720p? This is completely stupid, and highly illogical! Unwatchable, due to lack of detail. You smart Americans REALLY SHOULD know better!

  • ... and yet Google want people to trust them, and use Android, when they plainly cannot even get their act together and post something as simple as a HIGH DEFINITION PRESENTATION?

You are joking, right? I know you are, GoogleTards.

  • @unlokia Ignorant prick. Perhaps you should do a little more research on Google's various teams.

  • Please make a hi def version !! even with full screen i cannot make out anything he is writting.!!!

  • Due why dont you test it before you show it to the world. Probably there are a lot of people in this world thinking of going into which platform is good. I'm pretty sure you didn't give a nice impression to them.

  • total waste of time! poor audio poor vdo and poor presentation over all. the guy keep blabbering nonsense half the time!

  • Wow, he had some terrible luck with that Mac! Otherwise this was very interesting :)

  • @Aaronage1 With Macintoshes there's no such thing as good luck. They're garbage. Pretty garbage, mind you, but garbage none the less.

  • please make an HD version!!

  • Hey if your MacOS reboots frequently, just don't click it that way.

  • Sucks

  • Everytime a Mac is used in these videos, the instructor seems to have all kind of problems...

  • Pathetic audio quality!

  • I've never liked Mac.

  • wow how long did his laptop take to boot

"I'm sure they will edit this out" :(

  • HD PLEASE!!!

  • Jason seems to be very knowledgeable in this field but its a bit hard to follow his lead.

Also it would help us a whole lot with better video and audio quality. Google should be able to do that.

  • Note to GoogleDevelopers: If you are going to show IDE usage and code, you need to at least support 720p video. Anything less and the video is useless. That is all. Thanks.

  • I agree the sound is too muffled and I can't see any of the code. Unfortunately without being able to see the code I was not able to benefit from the presentation.

  • you're google, it should be HD quality, GREAT sound etc....

  • Now we know why Google wanted to make a Chrome OS xD

  • LOL, MacOS crashes and takes seemingly 4 minutes to reboot. What a pile of crap. That will surely shut the iTards up.

Great video thou... Would be REALLY nice to get a HD version of this, where the text in Eclipse is actually readable thou...

  • @mgillespie I have both MacOS and Win7PC. Personally I find MacOS walks over the Win7PC, but that is just my preference - and Apple fully supports the OpenGL and HTML5.

It was the Eclipse IDE that crashed as evidenced when the phone emulator failed to respond in the first instance.

But LOL, they were ALL developing / demonstrating in the MacOS environment.

  • @mgillespie "iTards" LOL

    Great video thou...

  • mumble mumble what? speak up dammit, the volume is so low I can't hear you even cranked up.

  • Even with headphones this is far to quiet to easily listen to. can we please redo this video and amplify the volume.

  • @quixotiCfluX download the video using youtube video downloading software then play it in VLC and use the volume boost to 200%

  • he got a bigger bottle...

  • Very low resolution and volume, especially on my little laptop....

  • The resolution of this video is very poor. I cannot make out the Eclipse IDE. This makes much of the video useless. That being said if it was a better resolution it would be a great instructional video.

  • @theholydefender Accessibility is the primary issue that this video fails in, and GoogleDevelopers should be aware of, encourage the use of by example, and implement them as best practice in their instructional videos. One of these is captioning eg for the hearing impaired; even if this video was loud enough for the average user.

  • @theholydefender

And a little bit of volume wouldn't have hurt either. X)

  • Poor resolution, can't make out any text!

    WTF??

  • yeah the volume is a bit low, but its great stuff..

  • I've got all of my Volumes up to the max (youtube, windows, AND powered speakers) and the volume is only average. IT IS TOO QUIET!!!!

  • try using headphones

  • I have speakers that I purchased 5 years ago and the sound is loud and clear.

  • Appr 13:10 to 20:55 of the movie is lost time while his Mac rebooted.

  • Please edit out the crap and repost...

  • So far this stinks.... badly

  • With all of Google's resources, they don't have HD cameras?

  • In less than an hour I have seen just how fast and reliable the Mac OS is -- is this really what Apple keeps talking of?!

  • You do realize that any sort of machine will fail every so often. The Macintosh OS just does so a lot less than Windows. Linux is even more stable than both. As per the chaos theory, "All things tend towards chaos"

  • that is the laws of phyciis as stated by my friend stephen hawkings...lol evertyhing in teh unvierse will tend to go to teh other side of the FORCE...and it is a fact..sooner or later, anything in the universe will tend to die out...then a new beginning, like the 2012 theory..

  • Can you turn up the volume on this video please? I have the YouTube volume and my speaker volume at full blast and I still have trouble hearing some of what is said. Thank You.

  • not a good speaker

  • I think Jason Chen say "amm" too much...

  • i cant even read what he's typing

  • Tutorials and screencasts are better for learning a system, and reading the slides directly from sites(.)google(.)com/site/io would be faster than watching the presentation. I watch Google's tech videos while exercising -- burn and learn.

  • That MAC is very slow.

    good presentation though.

    Thank You

  • 2:56

  • too bad that the resolution here doesn't allow to understand anything - really amateurish- he is talking about code i cannot see...

  • He was right when he said the middle should be edited out. His laptop comes back just after 20:00.

  • "They" were more concerned about ~51:35.

  • Thanks for publishing that one, as I missed this session at the event (cause it was so overcrowded :)
