Yes and no.. not all rigs have an iron roughneck. I think its a great tool, makes for a good trip.

I've worked for years on a rig that didn't have one. I kinda missed that thing.

we use the Varco AR4500 , beats using manual tongs thats for sure.

Thats just like our baby, but yeah you need the tongs for the BHA. They save a lot of time though.

that thing is huge our varco is an st-80 a lot smaller and faster than that one

Yea we also have an ST-80. Spin in, and torque in about 5 seonds..

Work SMARTER not harder :) Still have to get the tongs out for BHA and topdrive connections. Makes trips easy..
