  • This might just be my favorite song... ever.

  • perfect coffee song! :)

  • Wow... is there any song more beautiful?

  • "Mira que cosa mas linda, mas llena de grasa" :D

  • I was born in Brasil and this reminds me of where I lived for years <3

  • I heard this song mentioned in Skulduggery Pleasant, had to search it. :D

  • The English part ruins the entire song...

A parte em ingles estraga a musica inteira...

  • @LuisfernandoGNU are you kidding? astrud gilberto has a voice of a goddess

  • @Nerdysaxophoneplaya

yes, but i dont like english in bossa songs... i don't know, maybe is because english dont have this special tone that portuguese have... i say this in my opinion, is just my point of view

  • @LuisfernandoGNU

I agree. I speak English, don't speak Portuguese but I think Bossa Nova sounds much better in Portuguese.

  • @Nerdysaxophoneplaya

what voice? Astrud never had an atom of voice, flat, without range, pitiful. But maybe had a good ass.

  • @ferdinangenius

Dammit troll, you got to me. >:(

  • @ferdinangenius You have to be kidding. She is a great jazz singer - this is a stellar performance.

  • @Nerdysaxophoneplaya non esagerare, astrud gilberto è anche un po' stonata ma la sua voce emana un fascino senza pari.

  • F*CKIN BANGER

  • The first part says "but instead when she walks to the sea" and the second "but each day when she walks to the sea"?

  • @javiikiller When Astrud Gilberto recorded this song, she knew very little english, so her pronunciation was far from perfect, yet it sounds beautiful!

  • @elcaifo Then...? What does she says?

  • @javiikiller but each day when she walks to the sea...

  • @elcaifo Thanks :)

  • I've been looking for this song forever! love this!

  • has any1 tried sampling this yet?

  • @iamusick yes.. look up curren$y-breakfast :)

  • @Keishacollins91 thats just the intro song...its not sampled

  • @iamusick it would be a challenge!

  • I thought it was italian.

  • @CheckingIntention I knew it was portuguese

  • everyone that's below me seem to be getting trolled pretty damn hard.

  • In Portuguese! It sounds so nice :)

  • i love the erage...guys get a fucking life and just listen to this amazing song and stop fighting over nothing..shhh and listen =)

  • @er20092009 it's portuguese you IDIOT, Brazil is in South America and they speak portuguese.

  • Comment removed

  • @StreakybaconSB757 sounds like spanish to me IDIOT!

  • @er20092009 its portuguese STUPID!

  • @er20092009 LOL you obviously dont know anything. the "dudes" singing the song didnt even write it. The person who actually wrote the song, Vinicius de Moraes is from brazil where they speak portuguese. spanish and portuguese are very similar BUT vinicius still wrote the song in portuguese his native language. just because you know people doesnt mean shit. do your homework better next time.

  • @er20092009 This is Portuguese bud. I'm from Venezuela which is in South America, and we do speak Spanish. But these guys are speaking Portuguese which is spoken in Brazil. Brazil is also in South America, and it borders my country on the south.

Please do some research before you start flaming.

  • @NapoXxpsxX thank you!!

  • @er20092009 Only a dumb american nigger asshole would be so wrong and angry.

  • @TheFrankyFigs bit far...

  • great love from Georgia to Brazil !

  • The title forgot to mention Astrud Gilberto! Love this song so much :) <3

  • Me gusta! me gusta! :D

  • This is Astrud gilberto and Stan Getz!!!

  • so relaxing.......!!

  • this song never gets boring; it reminds me how much i love the love of my life...

  • This song kinda depresses me.

  • @nek159Creationz sorry dude but i think u mean 'montage' instead of 'bondage'

  • @Avinaash15 I'm not so sure he does...

  • aww:(

  • i think this is astrud gilbert (female singer). correct me if im wrong

  • @velvetrose76 you are right!

  • This is sipping on a pina colada from a coconut bowl, while reclining in a white netted hammock, in the shad of a group of palm trees, listening to the surf on a warm summer evening on a beach in Brasil. Que linda es!

  • FINALLY IVE FOUND IT !!! this the begining of curren$y's breakfast song...finally !!

  • @YungLilBomb don't correlate this beautiful song with that trash

  • Who is the singer?

  • @PeppeZeppelin Stan Getz (Male) & Joao Gilberto (Female)

  • @bertoxx11 Stan Getz ( Male and saxophone player) Joao Gilberto ( Male and guitarist) you mean?

  • In 'Rush in Rio,' Alex introduces the band. Geddy Lee is 'The guy from Ipanema' and Alex is Stan Getz. Now it makes sense. I'm assuming that calling Neil Mr. Milton Banana was just silliness.

  • Excellent...

  • Where has all the good music gone

  • Adult swing XD

i like travel to brasil :)

  • this song gets me high

  • Im only 14 and this is one of my favorite songs. Forget about Lady Gaga hah.

  • @rahimadreama23 yesssss!

  • I love Brazil! Greetings from Turkey.

  • Damn its a shame that they dont make music like this anymore.... Whats wrong with our world... Even the music is dying... Thats not a good sign. Its crazy, all the technology from the 80's science fiction movies is here now. And if you watch movies like terminator and note the man vs machine concept, and read George Orwells 1984... Its where were headed. They even use auto tune for singers now. You dont need talent to be a singer, you just need a computer to do it for you... its scary shit man

  • @nakedyoga420 Good music isn't dying. It's just not so common, which is not weird to happen. Mass maybe dominates, but there's no way this music is going to die :) Good things stay, they are just harder to achieve. Enjoy, tell your friends, and share the joy of good music instead of lamenting of it! It's still alive, or aren't you?

  • @Praclik22 Your right man... I guess i just get depressed sometimes because Im young, but i spend so much time searching through the anals of time for great music, and when I hear the music of my generation, and the younger generation it sounds like its getting proggressivly worse. I cant help but notive that back in the day, it was all about who was talented. Now its all about the image

  • @nakedyoga420 Thats true my friend, the mass music nowadays is a business. Good music maybe doesn't make that much nowadays, but there are always recordings and other ways including the real artists that do not have French furniture but do what they love. Don't be depressed. Even a lot of guys from our generation will eventually find a way. Just don't let your enjoyment get ruined by these things. It's okay to care for it, but don't let it to get too much on you. Be opened for opinions, enjoy :)

  • this song reminds me of violent bondage of zombies with fire and guns

  • @nek159Creationz

YEAH! (Dude looks at you with hazy blind dog's eyes)

  • A Top 5 hit for Getz/Gilberto in the summer of 1964. It would hit #1 on what is now the Adult Contemporary charts and #29 in the United Kingdom.

  • Just sit down, lay back, and relax.

  • This is one of the most dignified songs ever recorded...hats off to whoever got the idea for three separate artists, two languages and of course, to the writer of the song, Antonio Carlos Jobim

  • Why are you guys arguing about "rap" or "hiphop" music when this is so very superior? Just stop your "occupy wall street" garbage, leave your politics at home, and just enjoy (yeah, sit back and really enjoy) this incredibly great music. You wouldn't be at this site if you didn't appreciate it, wouldja? danno

  • BELLISSIMO!!!

  • all i know is that it sounds good.

  • beautiful...

  • This is the Brazil that I know and it is still there - Yes, it is just that -- Ipanema and the smile of any girls -- passes by, swings by ... yes, that is my world --

  • This is great music.

  • CI SONO COSE CHE NON NE PUOI FARE,QUASI, A MENO.....UNA DI QUESTE E' LA MUSICA!!! SI LA MUSICA...SE POI E' MUSICA COME QUESTA ....ALLORA E' INDISPENSABILE....

  • Jesus. I'm only 25 and as far back as I can remember this has always made me melt off my bones every time I hear it. Simply beautiful.

  • OLHA QUE COISA MAIS FEIA, MAIS CHEIA DE GRAXA

QUE COSPE E VOMITA E CHEIRA A CACHAÇA

DESCENDO O BARRANCO A CAMINHO DO...

    ¨BLRGHGRLBERGL@!##@!$#%¨$*&%*&¨%(*&¨*&¨*

  • are they speaking Portuguese?

  • @RCHSwackness Yes, it is Portuguese

  • ...It's a hot afternoon in the London suburbs and this seems like the perfect version of the perfect track for the perfect weather...

  • @davidpggarrett

You mean it gets hot in London??? What's that 60F?????

  • Where's the chill reaction?

  • what Astrud Gilberto wants, Stan Getz

  • lol..whats rap and techno gotta do with bossa?please grow up...

  • this song is way too relaxed for this comment section.

  • well, i actually love the musical style behind rap, but the lyrics and the gangster attitude behind it all 98 % of the time is wat bugs me. but you and BasicallyImPro are right somewhat in that i should open my eyes a bit and appreciate rap as a musical style. it is a very interesting genre and id love to know more about it. no sarcasm, but i think you guys won! you've enlightened me 8D

  • @OneManBand126 98% of rap is gangster rap? I think you've just been listening to all the wrong songs then. Rap is essentially poetry, and real rap embodies that. I hope you get exposed to some hip hop you actually like

  • @flamingchickensoup well then wat kind of rap artists or songs would you recommend?

  • @OneManBand126 lupe fiasco is a good one. he's probably heard on the radio too. sad because most of the good raps aren't played on the radio. usually bull like lil wayne and young money crew.

if you want, search up nas, immortal technique, krs-one, mos def etc. the eariler kanye west stuff was good too until he experimented on autotune. oh and kid cudi's poetic stuff is good too but if you can't handle him talking about weed "the monster", don't bother. i probably should shut up. lol...

  • @OneManBand126 try a tribe called quest, always a classic

  • @OneManBand126 also try the sound providers and asheru

  • Island Vacation...

  • @MrZamzaidy BRAZIL!

  • All Music Is Bullshit To Somebody, So Shut Up & Listen To The Song.

  • stop hating on rap rap is just as good as every other genre. just not the bullshit mainstream hip hop

  • @BasicallyImPro rap is bullshit. so is mainstream hiphop, but rap is even worse. go back to ur lil' baggie and quit trolling gangbanger!

  • @OneManBand126 ur a fucking idiot suck a dick

  • @BasicallyImPro I think this is enough proof for OneManBands theory.

  • @facecomic thx facecomic :)

  • @BasicallyImPro i'd rather not suck a dick, but if your confused about yourself and telling ME to suck a dick, then thats ok, too. you can go hide your true feelings and pay for a 10 dollar dick suck, but ill stay straight and keep class in the world. keep in mind i have nothing against gays, and i meant keep the world classy with my music. u go get ur 10 dollar girlfriend and stop polluting the world with your rap and drugs.

  • @OneManBand126 who the hell said anything about drugs...?

  • @BasicallyImPro justmakessensecuz u must be high when u string together ur rap shit. ive seen ur vids, and if u think those are good, ur most likely high right now. ask ur "homies".

  • @OneManBand126 ...what??? my videos are beats theres no lyrics are you fucking retarded? stop commenting you dumbass...

  • @BasicallyImPro I never said there were lyrics but yur right i should stop comenting on this because im really busy writing good, classy music, so ya. u should check out my channel to see wat i mean, but u dont have to, im not trollin, spamming, watever.. i just wanna ask u this, do u use magix for your beats?i just torrented magix the other day and i think its fun. also, do u ever sell ur beats for money? cuz that seems like easy money; im making beats now too and its purdy easy, ill post 1 4 u

  • @OneManBand126 lol making good classy music..? I use logic and i make original songs.. i don't use loops... like you and your "classy music". and yeah it's good money

  • @BasicallyImPro coolio, who normally buys beats? I could use a savings fund for college (im only 14)

  • @OneManBand126 Dude, your dubstep is crap. It's what we call "brostep," which lacks any class. And how can you disparage rap at the same time as supporting dubstep. Both genres, as different as they are, have the same level of class, which is pretty low. That being said, I am a fan of many rap and dubstep artists, but jazz and bossa have more class. You're only 14, so stop acting all high and mighty, professing you hate rap just to be counter culture. You're pretty young and don't know shit.

  • @srs32896 i love dubstep because i think the drumming is neat :)

  • @OneManBand126 And people like rap because they like the beat and lyrics. Don't talk about things you don't know about.

  • @BasicallyImPro You're an idiot but then again so are the people commenting on people. I'm a rap, rock, jazz, classical and bossa nova enthusiast and they all have their perks and downsides. They shouldn't overgeneralize and you shouldn't jump to profanity to make your point faggot. Everyone's tastes are different.

  • @GabrielTheRod i don't have a problem with people that don't like rap or hip hop but i do have a problem with people that dislike it and talk shit about it...

  • @GabrielTheRod thx i have followers! lol jkjk

  • Great song.

  • scrubs scrubs scrubs scrubs

  • This song is so calming... I love it.

  • 13 persons here are deaf

  • yep, elevator music :)

  • @aiProductions6 waaay to much!

  • Heel mooi en sereen, teder en muzikaal in evenwicht.Word er relax van.

  • i grew up with my parents playing this so every time my sibs and i went to sleep, thus making this some the "sleepy song" now when ever i hear this song, i almost fall instantly asleep....

    oh the nostalgia.

  • You know what? I really hate people that love to say that the current generation has horrible taste in music. It's so self-righteous and arrogant. Sure, there's loads of crap on the airwaves today, but there was loads of crap that you don't remember when you were young, too. You just remember the few hits of your generation, hear what's currently on modern radio (crap, in case you forgot), and declare that us young'uns don't know good sound when we hear it. Pisses me off.

  • @killerz2975 You're right of course. EVERY generation in history has thought that everything was better when they were young.

  • memories...

  • Dale Uzi, metele huevos que llegas al tono

  • @luchobichito92 vamouuu

  • 13 people are mentally challenged

  • This hit by Stan Getz (with Astrud Giberto) was the 43rd #1 hit on Billboard's newly formed chart that is now known as the Adult Contemporary charts.

  • @aiProductions6 not really

  • my guitar teacher has given me this song as an exercise in playing both chords and melody, and its a tricky thing! The bosa nova rhythm is fine from a chord viewpoint, but adding melody over that is damn hard for me, at least.

Love this song, for me playing other styles of music just serves to make me better at my favoured genre (glorious, loud rock!), and I agree with other posters, the kiddies just dont have the intelligence or focus to appreciate anything they dont know.

    Sad for them.

  • ppl who hate it, hate music. this is music, wonderful.

  • ME GUSTA

  • a mi me encanta, y más si estuve en Río, la nota de la ciudad es puro relax... más en vacaciones y si uno vive en Caracas todas las versiones son exquisitas

  • This forever will be great music. A true classic.

  • Un festival de emociones.

  • whats up with the people who dislike this song?

  • makes me want to watch those nice Brazilian telenovelas

  • @sayaka230 Agreed.

  • Epic timeless choon.

  • unrequited love!!! this song can bring a tear.

  • FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @aiProductions6 Or the perfect companion to it

  • I remember first hearing this song and this album when I was a kid and my father kept playing the shit outta it. It captured me. It still has me. That sax, her voice, Joao's passion, and, Antonio Carlos Jobin! And those guys in the back. The bass, the guitar, and the percussionists. This is perfection. I love everything, from Mozart to Metalicca. And this, as I said, perfection.

  • @richardmbowman Amen to everything!

  • Good song from a good album.

  • Elevator music ;-)

  • vampire hotel.

  • Souvenir de mon premier amour, nous la chantions dans ta voiture l'été où nous nous sommes connus. Jeunesse et illusion perdues.

  • Carlton killed this!

  • elevator music lol.

  • makes me feel so fine. I love those chill musics.

  • I listen to this everyday now. This is the best song ever.

  • I have nothing more to say. I keep getting E-mails that tell me" ___ has replied..." I could now care less what your opinion on my opinion (or "statement" as some of you take it) is. Call me "intolerant" of people who differ from me all you'd like.

  • V for Vendetta brought me here (:

  • Everyone I know loves this song.

  • Honestly? Why is it when I post a comment saying that I don't like something, that everyone goes on the offensive? I don't hate rap, but most of the newer stuff isn't that great IN MY OPINION. What's the purpose of arguing with people on the internet? Just so you can feel good about yourself when you log off?

  • Comment removed

  • Whoa there...it'd be fine if that was just an opinion but when you add something like "rap is just talking" then that becomes a statement. Which implies that anyone's opinion on rap being good is false because it's just "talking". Meaning you were technically attacking my opinion first.

  • @aiProductions6 multiple orgasms for me. i've listened to this about four times in a row.

  • Fuck Rap. All they talk about is slapping women around, smoking dope and getting in trouble with the law. If I were you I would stick progressive rock or classic rock or maybe early metal like Black Sabbath or Judas Priest

  • @eyeofset My favorite genres of rock, along with psychedelic rock of the 60s.

  • @eyeofset

Lol maybe listen to some good rap then.

  • @eyeofset I think you're listening to the wrong kind of rap. Give Outkast a shot.

  • This song is like the beautiful story of my life with women, except for me it would be: "And when she passes he says 'Hi, how are you doing?' but she doesn't hear".

    (Sigh) Women...

  • mmmmmmmm, Un délice, une merveille, c'est tellement exquis. Bien que je ne comprenne pas un seul mot, je suis charmée par cette sublime chanson. mmmmmmmmm

  • thumbs up if you came to this song because of whirled :D

  • Anybody who dislikes this song deserves to be shot.
