Every one commenting on this piece seems to have already exhausted the dictionary in order to describe the beautiful work you have completed here, Daniel. I cannot contribute more without repetition, so I will merely say how wonderful it is to watch your delicate fingerwork and witness the deep emotion you pour forth onto the keys. Thank you for such beauty. My very best regards, Olann01 (Carol, Terry's Mom)
Thank you for a very beautiful comment, Carol. I think it's curious how we often step into interesting things unexpectedly and sometimes even almost unconsciously. Sometime ago I was recording with my camera take after take of a wonderful and not particularly easy classical piece I was practising.
Being a little exhausted after one hour of intense practice - playing three-part fugues seems to use all mental resources available! - I decided to take a few minutes break so I started improvising, playing whatever it came to my fingers just to relax a little, while the camera was still recording.
As I kept playing, I started enjoying it more and more, and at the end of the improvisation I was totally excited with it and knew already I had to upload that new improvisation because there was something beautiful there. So, I'm so glad and lucky the camera was recording when this happened! It's funny how I probably did fifteen to twenty takes of that classical piece, with errors in every single one of them, while this beautiful improvisation came just in one take!
Precioso Dani, que sensibilidad desprenden las notas, parece que acaricies el piano. Me ha emocionado y estoy muy orgullosa de lo que estás consiguiendo con tu esfuerzo y sacrificio.
Ah. In the course of improvisation, one can come up with things that are lasting. I hear some themes in that short piece that could be spun out as film music, developed into a sonata adagio, or made into a concert aria. Good work, Daniel!
A very interesting comment, Thomas, thank you very much. I agree completely and I think some of my most interesting musical ideas have come spontaneously during improvisations. Sitting down with pencil and paper and trying to write something interesting from nothing is always harder for me. I'd love to select some of my improvised stuff some day and develop it, I have done that just once in the past but the results were remarkable.
Thank you for the comment, Truus! I just watched a few of the videos in your channel and I think you are doing a great job, they are gorgeous! I wish you made a video of one of my pieces some day too, particularly with "Despertant al Somni"!
Thank you so much for your compliments, I am really happy that you like what I do with the videos. I'll go now to your Despertant al Somni and let you know!
Feel free to listen to another one of my improvisations called "Christmas Card". I think it is similar in style to "Sea-Green in the Eyes (Of a Mermaid)" but probably a little more cheerful. I hope you enjoy it too:
Thank you for your encouraging words, Lilly! I just read that Victor Hugo's quote on your channel and I totally agree that music says that which cannot be said... Actually I don't even have the slightest idea of what is that that music 'says', but I know it can make me shiver sometimes and some music is even able to make me cry, so I guess it must be something important!
Thanks for the comment, Terry! I hope you are well too, and I wish I had more time to spend doing improvisations like this one and uploading more stuff, but unfortunately my study pieces take all my time on the piano... The good part is after a few hours studying hard, my fingers become more disciplined and whenever I indulge in improvising the result seems to get better in time and the music more flowing! Again, thanks for the encouraging words, you are very kind!
I can imagine what you say about improvising in light of your routine discipline. It's rather like receiving a simple 'thank you note' from a calligrapher. There's much elegance in even the simplest expression from their pen. And no writer's cramp, either. : ) ~Terry
I still love it... :)
hope you are well,
Lilly

Very well put. I feel the same way and you created a piece of music that touches my heart.

Oh, Dani -- it's been too long since I've had the extreme pleasure of your compositions! Oh, my ...
this is precisely the sort of piece my dear Truus
would use as an artistic video! In any event, she
will for sure love to hear this piece -- as well as
other dear friends who love this quality and beauty
in the song choices. I hope you are well. Judging by this, you're well and happy and working! ~Terry
