You have a great design there, but a lower warning tone and a slower spoken message may get the word out better. Low, scary penetrating tones catch the attention of the public better than most new sirens do today.
The system is automatically activated by NOAA/NWS during all weather events and all hazard related events issued by DHS, a few of which are chemical spills, amber alerts & terrorist attacks. When the sytem is automatically acitvated either a red or amber light comes on, then an 8 second siren sounds and then the voice of NWS comes over the speakers telling of the event and what action to take. Range is 1000 ft for a 2000 ft radius. Kevin Brady
@garyhstorms09 Those horns do look familiar. it seems my guess to be University Sound 'Cobrelle Flex 3" horns (appearance) , or similar. This is only a guess
The video is for demo purposes only. The audio clips are third genereration copies which obviously greatly degregate the intelligibility. The product is rated for 1000 feet in coverage which allows for proper intelligibility of the voice transmissions. The actual broadcasts come directly from NOAA and are quite clear. The product has been proven in the field in all aspects of operation. An actual demonstration could be provided to interested parties. Thank you for your feedback.
Voice announcements on standard electronic siren systems are generally unintelligible outside the immediate vicinity of the siren, and those are usually spoken clearly and slowly. This system has a garbled, synthesized voice which speaks far too fast to be understood with any sort of refraction. Keep working on it.
