  • northside is the worst side :D

  • Small debris. Small tornado. It was a quarter mile wide and traveled over 5 miles

  • that why i live in northside fuk southside

  • @touyang91 a tornado just hit Northside a few hours ago Hope you all are ok

  • @Loony359 I'm GOOD Tornado can't stop me the only thing that could stop me is death

  • @touyang91 Haha nice

  • i remember that happening, it was like a regular rain cloud then BAM! a tornado developed and Jonathan Yuhas at Kare 11 could not believe it! He even said it was impossible.

  • Debris...........As Thurton Howell the 3rd would say. " Remove the debris"

  • i dont see how its called F 0 yet causes damage its like being called a nothing yet its a something. In this city we had an F-1 yet it still caused the collapse of the mall roof so what does that say? Either its a poweful storm none the less or we should blame the people who make the buildings? But then again we dont really expect tornadoes here.

  • my mom was stupid enough to drive in that and we almost got in a car crash we only didn't because some people would let us over and they got in one instead

  • OMG I was going to Millacs lake when this happened! the radio people were soo scared and didnt know what to say lol.

  • debree.. debree... you see debree of my cock

  • i remember this! it went right next to my house

  • small debris, small debris, it really looks small when you don't ZOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!! MEATBALL.

  • I WAS THERE

  • i was there

  • I remember this.

  • i rember this day perfectly the strom hit my city at 7:00 around there my family was going to a state for 3 weeks some of my family went then we started to drive in that nasty strom i was so scared i cried a little then we had to wait for 3 HOURS! for the bus to get my family to the other state we were in Minneapolis at 9:00pm my aunt me n my 2 cousins went back home but here some good news my city had a tornado when we left my bff told me wen i got home its was raining n my mom came home

  • ripoff

  • good call tom you rock. that is why i watch wnep tv .

  • i live like two blocks away from were it past by but i didnt feel anything until i saw it on the news, and luckly theres no trees by my house

  • I saw this from 38th and cjicago way to close for me later that day and the next day i rode my bike into the area wow no trees and homes damaged

  • one tip for the filmers: shut up, and just tape. also, i go through the area where the tornado hit every day, the houses aren'y fixed yet, It's December!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just weird how the area that got hit used to be like a tunnel of trees, now it's just open air.

  • Hmmm I was riding the light rail around that day a few hours before it hit..the sky really looked funny that day...

  • ohhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaa gaysss!

  • I remember this day! I live in St. Paul but I had turned on the news and I saw on the headline "Tornado" and I was like oh my gosh!!!

I could never believe a tornado would hit Minneapolis.

  • i was 5 blocks away from this. there was absolutely no wind. it was sketchy

  • I live like 5 blocks away from where that happened also....

  • the tornado went over my house, no damage.

  • Im from minneosta

  • Don't you WISH you had a "video" camera at the time? No money shot as a result; oh my gosh. F0 ? Not EF0 What is the real story behind the enhanced Fujita scale anyway?

  • OK actually at the point this vid was taken the tornado was dropping down DIRECTLY on the ELECTIC FETUS--a radical left wing record store--LONG before it hit the convention center with all of those creepy Christians..so i gues it hated BOTH of them...YAY! :) funny

  • LOL; too funny. "God" should have detoured the tornado and knocked out Catholic charities; now there's an oxymoron; catholic and charity? Oh please; all the money goes to the mobsters in the Vatican.

  • Hell yeah! You got that right!

  • I remember that day! I was having a coffee with my cuz (gabby) and we went outside and heard the sirens! we were like freaked out!

  • that is some DEBRIS! add me if youre a real MNsotan!

  • it was the first time a tornado had hit the area in like 90 years.

I need to mention it was the ELCA(evangelical lutheran church of America) yearly conference, that is different from the LCMS

I am just saying be careful when you say Lutheran

  • I'm not a meteorologist, but I disagree that the twister was an EF0.From the description of the damage in the paper,I think it had to have been a weak to moderate EF1.

  • Isn't it kinda Ironic that it happen in the Convention center where Lutherans were allowing/legatimizing gays to be priests or head the church?

not to mention, tornadoes don't usually happen in minneapolis city, specially urban areas. so gays God is angry with you and the Lutherans.

  • Gutsyndicate: You are correct. Plus, they could not explain why this tornado happened in the first place. It came from nowhere and they kept talking on the news about how this was completely unreal because there was no reason that we should have been having a tornado that day. It was very, very strange!

  • no body knew the tornado was gonna hit. it was only like 67 degrees and it was only suppose to rain all day no one saw this coming. they cald it something like a water draft.there were no typical sign of a tornado

  • yup.

  • Curious to mention that it happened during the Lutheran Assembly in which they passed some rather raunchy declarations. It turned the cross upside down on the steeple of the church (and split it in half), hurt the roof of the conference center and then lifted back up.

    Coincidence? I don't think so.

  • I don't understand why everyone is so judgemental...oh why weren't the sirens on before it hit! Blah...there weren't the typical signs for a Tornado! Quit blaming folks...we AIN'T GOD. Before you yap your trap, learn something about Tornado's...

  • awesome finally get some activity here!!!!!

  • i work,i live ,i saw,i was.....where were your cameras.people, if not for this guy, we would have no video......you all were sleeping,,,,,,thats were you were......lmao

  • lmao...you're right! Thank god for this person! Because I was literally asleep...I woke up like wtf? I've always been terrified of Tornado's and it hit my babies dad's house BAD. Thank god I left that fool so I wasn't over there! LMAO...

  • Well, I was about 50 ft from it and all i could do was freeze. I didn't think to take a picture or video with my phone. If you were in the situation, I doubt you would have either.

  • I was on 35W at Lake Street, I am a storm spotter for the national weather service looking for any reports of high water ( it was raining heavy) but at 2 pm, just south of 36th , a swirling column of air was rotating counter clockwise with small branches, roof shingles. It did not show on Radar but yet there was a funnel cloud 100 feet east of me. A meteorologist with a PH.D and the most expensive, sophisticated radar in the world couldn't have predicted a tornado would hit Minneapolis.

  • I was at a clinic near University and Hwy 280 around 3:00 (like an hour after this hit), and they told us all that there was a tornado on the ground at that time on 35W & 94. The sirens had just gone off a few minutes earlier. Why? Who knows. They had also gone off a half hour earlier, but again, why? It was all way over by then.

Tornado warnings have been so good these past few decades that it's just shocking no one saw this one coming. Still cool though! ('Cause I wasn't in it!)

  • I work at WFHM and it directly hit the building no warning at all we were all still working at our desks and all the sudden I saw what I thought were birds flying crazily outside the window then I realized it was branches and stuff and I guess on the other side of my building they saw a car bumper fly by

  • i saw the tornado!

  • i live near minneapolis freaky

  • i saw the tornado from the IDS buliding i was scared. i didn't expect it to happen in such a no open place for it to start like that.

  • My brother works on the 21st floor of Target's Corporate Headquarters building...I was so scared for him.The Target Exec's were told to stand in the center of the room. My bro was like how's that gonna help. He's had to do a lot of adjusting to living in MN. In Ohio we don't have all that level ground. We have lots and lots of rolling meadows and hills =]

  • Actually, you have the wrong information. No one was told to remain in the center of the room.

  • The iPhone 3G[S] is a ground breaking device for local and national news.. The quality is about the same as a $12,000 camera which is also heavy.. The 3G[S] is $200 with a new AT&T contract, and is just a bit taller than a deck of cards but much thinner. And the phone supports HSDPA (3G) for fast sharing of the video to the news room. EVERY NEWS STATION IN AMERICA SHOULD EQUIPP THEIR ENTIRE STAFF WITH AN iPHONE 3G[S] SO THAT WHENEVER NEWS HAPPENS, A REPORT CAN BE SHOT LIVE WITHIN MINS!

  • lol saw this on the news in L.A. lol really werid i want to be by a tornado

  • hope this is the last cyclone ¬¬

  • sweet finally some action in the cities!!! would of loved to chase but w/ low clouds it was difficult.

  • thats scary.. get in the tornado safety position? or the bath tub

  • this was like freakin 2 blocks away from my house!!! thank god it didnt hurt my house but my cousins house was hit :(

  • EF0-EF1 by the looks of the damage from other videos.

  • the iphone takes great videos

  • this passed right over my house trust me only trees uprooted f1, or weak f2.

  • I was right behind that thing on the highway with my dad so yeah!!!

  • my house is like 5 blocks from there but i was downtown during that i didnt believe there was one and thank god my house and family were not hurt!!!!

  • I also died in the storm.

  • i didnt even know this was happening haha i was taking a nap

  • RIP sassycat.

  • Me and my family had to fly near this storm coming back from SF earlier today and at 30,000ft the turbulence was still very bad

  • mutha fuckas aint meteorologists its prob f1

  • ok i watched another video with damage its at least strong f2 maybe even weak f3..trust me i know this shit

  • they're lying... that shit tore up stuff... trees... a church got messed up to but it wasn't that tornado that did the church

  • that was right by my house...there were 5 or 6 of them today in the minneapolis area

  • i died in that storm.

  • it wasnt bad just rain all day

  • Yeah, except for the tornado in this video :P

  • Lol (to ColinShark)

  • In the Twin Cities, the sirens mean, "EVERYONE RUN TO THE NEAREST PLATE GLASS WINDOW AND LOOK AT THE STORM."

  • No, that is everywhere...

  • quite a storm today. drove straight through it.

  • This was about 4 blocks from my house. It's not a pretty site, you can't even drive on some of the roads because of how many trees were knocked down.

  • is there debris? there might be debris. someone said something about debris. jesus, i hope there isn't debris! oh wait, there's debris.

  • Oh my gosh we have debris!! Tell Doug we have DEBRIS!! DEBRIS south of the city. Wait is that debris?? SCRATCH THAT it's small debris!!

  • DEBRIS! IT'S DEBRIS! Good Dave Dahl reference!

  • I was downtown in class when this happened. My apartment is only a block from the Electric Fetus, and I was so worried about damage. Scary stuff. I can't believe it happened so quickly.

  • Comment removed

  • Cute tornado.

  • it touched down about 5 or 6 blocks away from my house, and it was literally raining sideways for a while there...but the sirens didn't go off for at least 15 minutes after, when it was just lightly raining!

  • that moved right over our work. it rumbled for about 30-40 seconds, broke windows and knocked down trees. we are in a huge building and never got any warning.

  • Very cool... very very cool!
