Alibaba has a wholesale site called aliexpress. Sellers on this site are awarded a 5 star system. If customer does not leave a rating then the seller is automatically awarded 4 stars out of 5. So that means if seller rips off people and no comments/ratings are given they still get good ratings. Scam.

I also got scammed some $500 recently through an alibaba "gold" and "verified" supplier. Everything seemed legit and above aboard but once sent payment never hear from them again, no longer registered etc. I'm disappointed as it was my first go at it, wanted to import some legit goods and resell on ebay.. just looking to make extra income. I know a friend who did import something twice and received it ok, so i dont believe they are all scammers.. but geez once bitten twice shy for now

For 1 off items go to aliexpress and it has safe payments for small buyers. People who don't know enough to try and start importing are the ones who get scammed and that is their own fault.
