i really enjoy the melody and instruments. the lyrics annoy me. i dont wanna do my own thing today. i dont want to do what i want to do. i want to follow your path today. i want to be with you. my thought.... so, which is it? is he doing what he want or is he doing something he doesnt want to do? ultimately it sounds as if by doing what God wants, that he IS doing what he wants to do. i think that God does want us to do what we want to do.

I think what the singer is getting at is giving up what we want in our sinful nature to do to do what He wants us to do. Wanting to do what God wants, wanting to give up own will as mere man, to do His will and for Him to rule over life. Kind of what Paul is getting at in Romans 7:15: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." That's how I understand it anyway.
