I've had chronic nasal polyps since the age of 15 years and during that time I've had 4 operations. Each time, the polyps grow back within a matter of a month or two for me. Oral steroids keep the swelling down for awhile. Problem for me, is all the cavities inside my skull are filled with the stuff, it's yuck!
@heresyournametagmark i had it done a few hours ago and immediately after the surgery my breathing was 100x better (even with two tampons still inside my nose somewhere)
For the past 2 years I was having a lot of trouble breathing through my nose, yesterday I inhaled deeply and one of these lads popped out, scared the crap out of me, but at least I can breath now! Doctor told me I dislodged it with all my heavy snorting haha
I had polyps removed about 20 years ago with a hot needle! Looking at this I think I'd have another go at removal (they come back - they always do), nothings painless but this looks so thorough!
=[ omg i only recently found out today that I had polyps from my appointment with an E.N.T. doctor...o gawd it looks disgusting.....its really bad mostly in my left nostril...its sorta been like this since 2008..I can only breath through my mouth.....its already bad that I have severe environmental allergies for which im highly dependent on advair, avamys, and singulaire....dam genetics. I hope n pray that i can get rid of it forever but i was told it can grow back. ne1 suffering?
The microdepider (sorry for misspelling the name of the instrument) is like a suction tool to remove the polyps, right? So, does anyone else notice that the tip of that instrument has shark-like teeth, IT's EATTING THE POLYPS!!! Look at 2:09-2:23. Aren't I right? Literally sucking up the polyps!
Im havin this surgery on thursday! .. Everyone has said that it's good and all that but im still really scared.. |Can somedoy tell me what the effects are after the surgery?
Shitt my 11 month old son has that and his suppose to get that surgery done im freaking out any one know the causes of this nasal polyp and the effects after :(
@magdaros0410 you feel like shit for a long time depends how big it is i barf up blood but thats only because my nasal polyp was in my nose since i was like 5 you might wont to give your son something to look forward to after the surgery because its kinda depressing and i tried not to think about it till after the surgery
@inten1978 i had the surgery 3 years ago and i havent had any symptoms of them being back. the doctor said that if they do come back then he didnt do his job right. but i was clogged for a year and it felt soo amazing to breathe out of my nose again. mine were a bit deeper then this tho.
@leerees. Find a good mirror with plenty of light. (blow your nose as best you can) Do whatever it takes to look n the back of your nose. I've used a Q-tip to gently move and feel around. If you see a grape like (tear drop) white sac hanging down. It most likely is a one of several you can't see.
Is there anyway to diagnose if I have polyps at home? unfortunately I live in the UK where every condition known to man is treated with a prescription of antibiotics and plenty of water. I've tried to explain to my doctor that I may have polyps and guess what he did, yup gave me antibiotics which of course have made no difference whatsoever. I'm on my 5 course of antibiotics and he hasn't even looked up my nose!
I've got a call today from the hospital, they've found a nasal polyp on a xray. I have to do a CT scan soon... I really hope that I don't have to do this surgery, I'm quite scared when it comes down to anything alien (to my body) entering my body, even if I know it doesn't hurt). How big is that iron rod?
@WhatTheNoojen Damn, I was afraid that it wouldn't feel nice after surgery... Is it a regular thing to receive multiple surgeries for this? And how long does it take to recover? I'm a vocalist in a band and I haven't be able to do any vocals for a long time because of the continious infections that the polyp brings. I really don't want to wait another 4 months :(.
@SevereThroatCancer Well, I had 3 because my first doctor thought he could get it out but it turns out that my polyp was deeper than he though so those 3 surgeries weren't helpful at all. All he did was make an incision in my nose so I could breath through the nose. Uhhh he sent me to a different doctor and this doctor specializes in this and Im gonna have 1 last surgery next month. Which sucks :[. But uhh you'll recover from the surgery in maybe 1-4 days. and polyps can reoccur but idk.
i need this urgery done; my nose is filled with these motherfuckers on both sides, but guess how much it is w/o insurance ?? $8000 !!!! might as well be 8 million....
i have nasal polyps..i am pregnent so for now i am using steroids..i wonder wher is dr . bhargave ..i want my nose in careful hands....also i have heard that it can spoil the shape of your nose..

sometimes one of my nostrils feels so hard/blocked i can't breathe or blow through it.
it's not always the same nostril, it sometimes change sides.
my snot is mostly white so i guess it is beacuse of allergy.
it sounds like my nose is crying if i blows hard :o
