  • Will Mastin trio; Sammy Davis, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Sammy's uncle Will.

  • he is great artist,,,, such not so much now in our time.... he is singer, dancer n komic......... great! n thx for video!

  • @zoryada In my book when it came to the Rat Pack, Sammy had more than all of them! Check out him singing " Who can I turn to (when nobody needs me)". The black and white tape. Peace!

  • Hey you arbitrary haters and detractors: This cool now, like Michael Jackson will be cool 50 years from now, like Charlie Chaplin is as cool as Jerry Lewis and Richard Pryor is as cool as Redd Foxx and so forth and so forthwith! To Wit: Why can't you just enjoy the show?

  • @jamblisstic Pleez don't don't forget Flip Wilson in the mix! :-).

  • @ClaireSosebeeSings Aww, man...why you have to go there! Flip is the perfect example of a consumate performer. He would do just about anything to win his audience. Not many could compare-even in terms of sheer drive! Thanks for reminding me of another great one in his time or in any other time.

  • You can't even put MJ in this category because it's a totally different kind of dance. Yes MJ could tap a little but Sammy was an expert at it!

That's no dis to MJ because he was a funky dancer, the absolute best at it, Sammy wasn't.

  • This is all good and I love Sammy but Michael Jackson still is the baddest dancer of them all. Some people forget that Michael could tap dance too..

  • They were known as the Will Masten Trio, at this point, (and to my recolection).

  • Probably the most talented performer of all time.

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • ....and who said Michael Jackson was the best dancer?

BET need to learn more about television broadcasting.

These are the kinds of broadcast we should be watching instead of just hip hop.

  • @DERLESIA1 I'm with you on that.

  • @DERLESIA1 It depends on who you ask, dont put MJ on the same level as hip hop dancers on BET nowadays, Mike is the most influential mainstream dancer of the past 40 yrs or so, he popularized "the robot dance", "moonwalk" and also did alot of great dance moves on himself. Sammy Davis jr, Gene , Fred all thought MJ was a better dancer than them, I LOVE sammy tho!

  • AMAZING!

  • I hate how everybody has to destroy an incredible dance performance that can't be duplicated with all the unnecessary and racist comments. None of you would have the guts to say these racist things face to face, so please cut out all the black and white racism from BOTH sides. All you racists are idiots.

  • han var fenomenal, kunde dansa innan han kunde gå

  • That was a really nice perfomance =)

  • really fucking... awesomee!!!! that`s dance, that`s perform, that`s a real spectacle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sammy Davis Jr was in a car accident and that's how he lost his eye....still, he doesn't received the credit...just like Bill Bojangles Robinson. I thank them for their God giving Talent. Clean talent...

  • I just want to thank Sammy Davis Jr and all of the Black Entertainers who pave the way through prejudice, hard times, coming in the back of the hotels to give their talents so that our future generations can continue to keep the torch going.

  • @rramal7491 and your a faggot

  • @rramal7491 substitute the word "stupid" for "white" and you're all set.

  • @FunDuude. If you think Sinatra had anything to do with Sammy losing his eye...so wrong!! In fact Sinatra helped Sammy through his tough times all through his career. He opened up Vegas for him, showed up at the hospital wearing an eye patch..insisting Sammy career isn't over. Frankie and Sammy were bros!!!

  • OUT OF SIGHT!!!!!!!

  • OMG my mind is blown O_O

  • this is back when people actually had talent!! talent is so rare now. =/

  • Dammnnn! Git it Sammy!

  • Sadly the guy is telling the truth. There was a lot of racism in the business back then. Watch the nicholas brothers. So little credit is given to them. Sammy belts out notes that franky can only dream of. Sammy has a range that frank doesn't have.

By the way, do you know how sammy got that Glass Eye? (hint: ask the the people that backed frankie).

  • Thats unreal...

  • What year is this???

  • WOW ! frogs dancing !

  • wow! WOW! WOW!

  • So did he touch the floor at all or...?

  • FANTASTIC.

  • I've always loved Sammy, wonderful video with his dad and uncle. Kisses &((hugs))in heaven.

  • The sad part is all the Pat Rut have street name after them in Las Vegas but not Sammy .So saaaaaaad.

  • You can tell that Sammy was the star in this vid because he had the biggest bow tie of the three of them..... and you know...... because he was a wicked good tap dancer

  • he was and will always be a favorite of mine..talent like that is rarely seen anymore..he certainly had the gifts....He is missed for sure..

  • Yes he was, miss the talent

  • He was unbelievable

  • cool XD

  • World is a little emptier with Sammy....thank you for posting this

  • Sammy Davis Jr. had it all - Dance, Sing, Act, Comedy, Stage, Screen, Radio, Nightclub, TV. I can not think of an entertainer who was so great in so many fields. He was like a 5 point baseball payer....

  • Will Maston Trio? I never have seen film on them..very cool. His dad and uncle no?

  • @homemoviescolorado Yep. A family act.

  • Will Maston Trio? I never have seen film on them..very cool

  • Simply Marvelous!!!

  • How did Davis do that thing with his eyes?

  • Amazing>thank you so much for sharing this!!!!!!

  • Ido not believe it. I have never seen this page before, SO MUCH SAMMY DAVIS I am beginning to feel educated, I have worshiped his tallent from afar for years without having an idea of just HOW AMAZING HE HAS BEEN. Hey let's have a holywood

smash hit The Life and times of. One problem there ain't enough tallent around to portray him OR IS THERE Max

  • haha..I dont know what made me come here but im glad i did...I dont know what it is about Davis's...just seem to come in rare packages,lol...

  • They don't make them like this anymore. Incredible.

  • THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shame how whites could afford to be mediocre and still get noticed, but blacks had to be SPECTACULAR to be noticed.

  • @ipanemaish Gotta turn this great man's performance into a racial thang? You suck. This is core member of the rat pack...and yeah. I am a white guy and I appreciate real talent.

  • @ipanemaish : you dont know how much you're right ....

  • @ipanemaish

Then again its easier for blacks seeing as how they tend to have music and rythym in their bones! ; )

  • @ipanemaish I agree but that's the difference, because they inspired more ppl than other average singers. Even tho they dont always get the respect, they changed popular music and dance! That's why MJ has an important place in american culture, because he knew who started and what and when, but they always denied it, untill he came and dominated it all. But like he sang on his tribute to Sammy; he always knew they were there before him. Blacks changed music & dance :) <3

  • 2:06 thats some wild $hit.

  • @rayzilla310 SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I cant think of anyone off the top of my head with whom I have more admiration for than sammy davis jr. Not just his performance (which is timeless and cant be topped) but also his outlook on life....listen to his interviews.,...what he dealt with, what he got out of life, and just the wisdom. amazing individual!!!

  • I saw Sammie at the WWII stage door canteen in New Orleans last night along with Frank and Dean. Unfreeking real!!!

  • what movie is this from, please? he was a most amazing entertainer. there wasn't anything that he couldn't do: sing, act, dance, play drums (don't know if he played any other instruments), did impersonations, and just about any and everything else he set his mind to do. i would have loved to have seen him live. we were blessed to have him in our lives. he still blows me away... ;-D

  • @ladyl34dfoot Yeah he played other instruments, including Trumpet and Vibraphone. Not sure if he played sax as well. Also he was world class quick draw. And his photography has been critically acclaimed. One of his most underated talents was his ability as a dramatic actor. Later in his life, he spoke of the regret of not being offered many dramatic roles in film. But the man was brilliant at so many things, it beggars belief how he found the time to master so many crafts.

  • Sammy Davis Junior was one of the most, if not THE most ,talented men of the twentieth century. His singing is superb and he was a great actor, too. This was before he lost an eye in a traffic accident.

  • Will Mastin (Sammy's uncle) on the right of the screen was 68 years old when they filmed this, he was born June 20, 1878 in Alabama and lived to be 100 years old, died March 14, 1979 in Los Angeles, CA.

  • MR ENTERTAINMENT !!!!!! All those great entertainers/shows are gone !!! We are stuck with reality shows =[

  • he always has a smile on throuh out the hole dance

  • that man was in shape....wow

  • that was in shape...not a deep breath anywhere...

  • Wow, do I feel ignorant. I mean, I always knew Sammy could dance, but this high-octane performance from his early years just made my eyeballs roll back in my head! What a legend!

  • Wow. Sammy was truly exceptional. Sometime I think we forget what an awesome all around entertainer he really was.

  • classic

  • A Master of rhythm

  • AMAZING!!!! what a tremendous talent. thank you for sharing.

    Layne

  • Mr. Entertainment himself... This guy could do anything...singer, comedian, impressionist, multi instrumentalist but what he did best and what he loved most was dancing..and he was one of the very best, stupidly good, impossibly fantastic... Bloody marvellous.

  • Wow one of the greats! RIP Sammy!

  • One Of A Kind.

    Sammy has not been replaced.

    Probably never will be.

  • No wonder Michael admired him. Sammy is sooo talented!

  • big time Sam!

  • WOW That's the Will Maston Trio! saw them in Vancouver, opening for Jack Benny if you can imagine that!

  • Great entertainment. If only he hadn't smoked and dranked so much he would very possibly be alive today. it was smoking and drinking that laid him to rest. How can anyone smoke cigarettes at todays prices anyway, $10.00 a pack to kill yourself is insane!

  • @haleyluvu hello friend, i knew he was dead when i wrote my comments, i should have written: i wish Sammy Davis jr. was alive and young , so i could watch him live..sorry

  • WOW !!!

  • holy mother of GOD those fellah could tap!

  • i love sammy davis jr. the BEST!!!

  • sitiofandotcom Thank You for this video !!!!

  • What an incredible Sammy the black (Black out of respect), was an extraordinary artist

    That Barbarooooooo

  • @ertrovador What reason or excuse was there to write: "...Sammy the black (Black out of respect)'? Sammy Davis Jr. was a performer and entertainer and the colour of skin is totally irrelevant. Sorry, I just find it tasteless. I've never seen it elsewhere.

  • @ertrovador What a tasteless and unnecessary adjective ",,,Sammy the black (Black out of respect)". I have never seen an individual of colour referred to like that. Sammy Davis, Jr., was a performer and entertainer.

The colour of his skin should, in my opinion, be irrelevant.

  • ♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY ♫ - Sammy Davis Jr

    Would be 85 today - 8th Dec 2010!

    We miss you Sammy! ♡

  • 63 years later 20 plus years sine he passed no ones even come close

  • I watched this four times already and am still saying un-frikin-believeable!!! The more I watch, I feel my brain splitting in two. I can't believe this is possible!! Dancers, skaters are performing feats now younger and younger that were impossible a while ago, but this, MY GOD! How can anybody improve on this? Sammy really IS the Greatest Entertainer Of Our Time! Triple threat, dancing, acting and singing. Top that!!!

  • this is soooooooooooooo fun to watch! he is so funny and talented! what an entertainer!!!

  • i wanna know what year this was!!

  • He was such a little man. He had to work very very hard. Performing was coursing through his veins. It was truly who he was.

  • @JazzPurist He was a great man. 'little" has nothing to do with the great Sammy Davis Jr.

  • @sideshow557 In stature HE WAS A LITTLE MAN. He was a friend of my parents and the man was 5 foot 3 and a half inches tall! I was stating a fact and YOU need to calm down!

  • You left out quick draw and many other talents. Simply amazing!

  • he was just...some kind of wonderful...<3

  • I knew that Sammy Davis was a good tap dancer, but I had no idea he was this good. Wow.

  • BACK THEN ENTERTAINERS WERE FORCED TO COON, NOW ENTERTAINERS RACE TO BE THE BEST COON.

  • oOo Its great oOo

  • I agree wit tendertrap this ish right here ni**a was sick, not jus Sam, Sam Sr, and Sams grandfather all three if them did well

  • this guy runs on electric wow what a dance

  • If anybody thinks that Michael Jackson was the best entertainer ever, watch this again. And while your at it, look at the video of Sammy Davis Jr. in Amsterdam, Holland. He was the greatest performer of all time. There is no comparison. The old timers said that Sammy even surpassed Al Jolson, and that's saying a lot.
