I have this duet album as an LP and it's absolutely beautiful, with a crisp, warm and gorgeous sound. It's been remastered as a CD, available for purchase on such sites as Amazon.com. In that album, Caballe and Verrett also sing the Confrontation Duet from Anna Bolena and Aida., and it's riveting. Their golden, lyric voices is pure vocal splendor. This is absolutely sublime. I love Callas's Norma. Its dramatic and expressive. But so far as duets go, blend, harmony, mellifluousity, timing, perfection, poignancy, ...YES! this IS IT! Price and Horne sound great together also.

this cd is awesome. i love their semiramide duet. its better than the horne & caballe duet. my fave piece in that whole cd is the duet from La Gioconda.

I love Caballé's Norma. She sounds warm, loving, human, maternal—a good, generous woman torn between love and duty, and longing for the simple happiness she cannot have. Her Norma is Amina's older and less fortunate sister. Callas's Norma is unforgettably complex and majestic, but Caballé's is no less Bellinian, and we are fortunate to have splendid recordings of both.
