@Chickenweng I go all the way deep too. You can cheat a bit and 'bounce' back up from dropping down so far...but I like to drop, pause for a second or two and then rise...now that's a real squat as far as I'm concerened.

Going down to parallel is a valid squatting technique, but yeah, if you only get that far down it doesn't matter how much is on your shoulders it's still just half a squat.

Theoretically there would be more weight at the bottom of the hole with the downward momentum, BUT if the decent is slow and controlled that momentum won't add to much. Bouncing out of the hole is way to easy (like bouncing the bar off your chest in a bench press)...I go to the gym to improve myself, not make it look like I lift heavy by little cheats here and there.
