Sorry, but education is NOT going to stop this. The only way you can educate these people is hitting them in the pocketbook. Instead of waiting for Education to happen (my whole life we've been waiting), people should start buying up the land and putting land use covenants on it. That would stop logging faster than any Education program or UN intervention. That leaves poaching and kidnapping as the remaining threats which can also be dealt with a lot easier if the land is owned. It wouldn't cost much to pay some starving locals to guard the property.
