How's he get harmonics sounding so good so far down the neck? (by down I mean toward the headstock)

It actually look to be about the 7th fret. one of the standard places you do a harmonic. Unfortunatley the mic is in the way.

With a perfectly clean attack, you can easily get 4th fret, 5th fret, 7th, 9th, etc harmonics.

Just make sure you're right over the fret bar and attack it cleanly.

Hopefully Ellis gives credit to Linda Manzer for inventing the wedge? Just wondering. wedge: side at the top bout not as wide as the side at bottom bout.

This has been applied to her cowpoke model for a long time. Bruce Cockburn & Pat Metheney use Manzers.
